Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong with adding the code FullScreenReading=true to my config file please? I had to do a full factory reset so I am trying to re add this to my config file

This is what it looks like in the config file

[FeatureSettings]FullBookPageNumbers="falseFullScreenReading=true"

Thanks

Remember also that one has to use a Unix style editor.

Thank you. The Unix style editor is the bit that throws me as I have no idea what that means or how to do it but I have fixed it. Luckily I had taken a copy of my config file from 3.30 after insterting this line from before my restore so I simply copied that over replacing the new config file and it works fine.

Thanks again for replying though.

Unix uses a single character at the end of a line; MS-DOS and Windows uses two characters to signify end-of-line.

Most Windows tools will silently replace the unix end-of-line by the two character convention for Windows style.

Numerous tools exist for Windows to replace the standard Notepad; one of the best is Notepad++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org/ ; it will ensure that changes made to a file reflect the original end-of-line encoding.

Good that you could fix it. The Unix style thing refers to the way the end of a line is represented in the file, cf. this. From the part of the configuration file that you posted I guessed that your editor does not support the Unix style end of line (a single LF). Many people recommend notepad++, which offers different end of line encodings as options.

I have no problems with slow rolling release to minimize problems. Once Kobos in Australia had show release stopping problems.

The only option I had to open the config file was wordpad. That gave me the text in wraparound format so when I added the line I must have missed something, a gap, dash, comma, whatever, I have no idea.

I managed to insert it correctly first time so no idea why I went wrong this time. Anyway luckily I copied the updated config file from before so just replaced the new one with the copy. Suddenly the new setting was there.

Thanks for the link to Notepad, I'll take a look and download it.

Glad to see your Pocket articles are fine, though
That's what was needed to display the articles properly. Unfortunately I didn't think of taking pictures before logging out of Pocket.

My stats are still here. Maybe it's because I tend to sync often lately (so the last sync data aren't too out of date)

I have synced before I logged out, but my stats were gone, maybe because I have only side loaded epubs.

It happened to me once and I think that after a couple of syncs the stats were back, but I can't tell for sure.
I understand how frustrating that can be. Time to read a lot to get back where you were. Or not

Yes, that is the problem. Kobo do not sync any information about the sideloaded books to their server. They do sync info about kepubs from the shop.

This is the first time I've ever downgraded a Kobo firmware. I like using the web browser from time to time. Oh well. Not like I was really looking forward to anything in 3.3 anyways. 3.2 will do until 3.3.1 or 3.4, wherever they fix the browser again.

Personally, I find it annoying - perhaps not so much by waiting itself, but by not knowing how much longer I have to wait.

Granted, I can install firmware manually, but feel a little bit afraid - what if something goes wrong? This thought makes me wait for auto-update.
