I have read many of her single title releases for Mira. Some are better than others, but for the most part I enjoyed them.

I'm at 31+11+55=97 (went a lot faster last night with the mouse). Haven't started today, yet. I might do the other half of Temptation (not getting any cowboy ones or ones of guys living in remote areas), or just nickel ones. Time is running out!

YAHHHHHHH!!!!!! Am shopping! Only bought two so far but it worked. Now a question....how do I get these on my kindle? Do I side load or what? Have heard you all mention Calibre. Or is there a reader or an app for either the Fire or iPad? Sorry to be so ignorant about this. Back to shopping in the meantime.

First you'll need to remove the DRM, either with the Calibre plugin or other tools from Apprentice Alf. Then use either Calibre or KindleGen (or Kindle Previewer which uses KindleGen) to convert them to Mobi.

For the Fire or iPad there are apps that support Adobe DRM. A few, but not all include BlueFire for the iPad; BlueFire, Aldiko or Mantano for Android (Fire).

Took them long enough. I use a prepaid card not sure what their policy is or if they care. Right now I'm keeping the balance low just in case it suddenly stops working.

Ok. Please don't laugh. I am on a mac and couldn't seem to figure how to get the books converted. Also for some reason couldn't seem to transfer to BlueFire via iTunes. So I transferred the downloaded the acsm file which wouldn't open in anything on my mac computer to my computer's Dropbox folder. Then on the iPad opened Dropbox and clicked on the book's file which came up in gibberish and then clicked on the "open in" icon and selected BlueFire and it worked beautifully and was faster than it has taken me to type this. Phew! Those of you who are much more computer savvy than I, probably think this was redundant. I will worry about getting on kindle later, for now the books are on something. And thank you all for your advice.

The Overdrive software is available for Mac, and on my Win7 PC when I clicked on the acsm file it automagically opened in Overdrive. Probably is an iApp you can use on the iPad, too.

Now Kindle is a slightly different ball of wax because of the DRM issue, and really isn't supposed to be discussed at this site but once you get Calibre and the right tools installed it's a piece o' cake.

I am surprised my CC company hasn't called yet. So I decided to be proactive and call them to put a note on my account since I'm working the next few days.

Have you tried the Raybourne books? I have to look up the names...

...okay, it's Deanna Raybourn. I believe they're in the MIRA or HQN imprint. The series is "Lady Julia Gray". These are romantic historical mysteries (meaning, the "romance" part is only a part, and doesn't develop in a single book).
  1. Silent in the Grave
  2. Silent in the Sanctuary
  3. Silent in the Moor
  4. The Dark Road to Darjeeling
  5. The Dark Inquiry

I also have a book "The Dead Travel Fast" listed for her, but I don't have it listed as a Lady Julia Gray.

First, you need to download them into Adobe Digital Editions. That needs to be one at a time, but it doesn't take more than a couple seconds per book. Then, you go to Calibre, and I will assume you already have apprentice alf's tools installed. Go to Import books, on the far right. Click, and go to Adobe Digital Editions. Use right click and shift to copy all the books. Then sit back as they load into Calibre. If you are really anal (like me), you can go into them and edit the metadata - for example, I want the tags to read Romance, but also suspense or Christmas or regency. I added romance by editing metadata in bulk (just type it in the tag space), and then I went back and changed the others.

I don't know why I started emailing instead of side-loading. But I just used shift to highlight a number of books (31 on the first night), and then used Calibre to email them to my kindle and my fire. It takes about 5 minutes a book (I use my gmail address as the sender), but then they are backed up on the Amazon servers under personal documents.

Actually, I would prefer to back them up on Dropbox, but I ran out of room. If you have enough room, or a little less books, just point to your dropbox folder as your Calibre library. Then, whenever you add a book to your Calibre library, it will automatically be saved to the cloud, and to every other computer you have that you have linked to your Calibre account. At one point in time, I had my ebook library backed up 5 ways. Now, I just have one backup, and whatever I have saved to Amazon.

I am using a Visa card also. Harlequin's response was that I needed to contact my bank. I called the bank and they say everything is fine from their end. They confirmed my CVV number. I have sent another email to Harlequin letting them know it is a problem on their end. I guess I should consider myself lucky I got as many as I did. The bank did make a note that I would be adding more small charges if I get this fixed.

I am using a prepaid Green dot card. No problems buying. You can get them at walmart, walgreens, and some gas stations.
HQ needs gift cards like other stores.
