Congrats on a day of firsts! Lucas turned over and grasped his rattle. It is so exciting to see all their milestones. ![]() Finishing up my morning coffee and thinking of heading out to the patio to read and enjoy the nice weather. |

We have some pacifiers that allow you to medicine in them so he can suck in the medicine. My cousin recommended them. The Dr said to give him the Tylenol if his temperature got to 100.4 but it has stayed under that. He is sleeping on my chest in the basement. We relocated after the tornado warnings came on and one touched down in the area. The threat has passed but we are staying put for a while.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You all wait and see, we will turn him in the end ![]() Regarding Lucas : I know you are probably more than fed up with my "supermomknowsitbetter" advices, but if he has a high fever, which some kids tend to have for no other reason than teething or growing spurts, bathing the baby in a bath at 37°C (some charitable soul please translate that to F) does the trick. If the fever spikes up again when you take the baby out of the bath, you should go to the emergency room. If not, you can wait a couple hours more before making a decision. In our case, petite princesse used to scare us that way, but since she was number two, I used that trick and ended up never having to go to the emergency room, but once or twice going to the paedetrician on the next day. |

I am not tired of advice, I find most of it to be very helpful. We called the doctor to find out if there was a medicine we could give him. If so, when and how much should we give him. With his age we figured there would be little that we could give him. But getting advice from other parents has been helpful.
In my glass, a home brewed IPA. Good stuff |

Yeah, in general you do not treat a 100 degree fever, but if it spikes you have to break it or seek help. My mom used an alcohol bath to break 104 fever I had as a child. I wonder if I got really drunk?

My computer is old. I put it together the first time 7-8 years ago with what was considered good quality parts 'at that time.' But a video card with 250M can't compete with today's 2G and 3G cards. Think in terms of modems. I was happy back in the day when I upgraded to a 56K dial-up line. Slowly, new card by new card, new motherboard, new hard drives, etc., etc., etc. Next will be a new card to run the new USB 3 so I can get the full speed out of my 3T external drive! Maybe it's even time to switch to Windows 7.... Stitchawl |

Today is a day to goof off and relax. I'll probably watch some golf while I work on a new jumper (sweater). And drink some tea, of course. But this morning, I"m going to start off with coffee. Peet's Major Dickason's. |

![]() I can see clearly now the rain has gone I can see all obstacles in my way Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind It’s going to be a bright, bright sunshiny day ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtiXiYMS86U ) Good morning, everyone! Taylor's "English Breakfast" tea beside me, a teeny tiny bowl of rice with some slices of chicken and a few chunks of daikon for breakfast, then I'm on my way again. I took a 5k walk yesterday along the side of Kyoto, visiting one of my favorite temple areas. I must have shot well over 500 photos... temples, people, patterns... Got some new photos of Geisha, Maiko, and as new fad that has taken hold in Japan... "Dress Up!" People rent Maiko and Samurai costumes and make-up, and go strolling the streets letting people take photos of them. Some of them look really convincing too. Others... well... let's just say I hope they are having a good time. I'm hoping I got 10-20 'keeper' photos out of the bunch. The lighting was pretty difficult, but Photoshop is my friend. And all this walking around that I've been doing every day is dropping my weight faster than I ever thought possible (Kyoto is hilly) and today I'm going back one size on my pants! Yippee! Quote:

I have the Microsoft Lifecam 5000. Don't have a clue what it cost, but they're cheap. And it's worked flawlessly.
Finishing up the last of a bottle of La Frenz Chardonnay. At $20 CAD, an absolute bargain. |

![]() I have been looking at new video cards recently as well. I have a GeForce GTX 280 installed, which has done a pretty good job to date, but some of the new games, particularly, are demanding greater performance. I can't find the GeForce GT 645 for sale here, but I am certainly considering one of the NVIDIA GeForce cards. Quote:
