Why do I point that out? A matter of taste and of how other people who think of them as a disgusting flaw make me want to kick them for pressing their view on the public: like by photoshopping them away from a shot of a fashion model, or even worse: using "defreckled" portraits as ads for image manipulation software.

The fairy dust is pretty - there's an awful to big lot of shiny magazines telling exactly the contrary so I just wanted to make use of the opportunity to point out I disagree.

freckles are cute but i really don't see the appeal of getting a tan. it's like wishing for skin cancer. i notice that most of the westerners i encounter when i travel have bad skin and full of sun spots.

[rant] We just received a fine notice for not voting in the stoopid council elections (that we didn't realise were on until they came on the news 6pm when the polls bloody close. And the bluddy bank are on my back witht reports and the accountant is dragging the chain. AND! we are out of bluddy onions! I am NOT going to the shops just to get an onion for the lambsie stew tonight! *sigh* My anxiety level is high - I am having a drink in about 1 hour!

Why wait??? For the drink that is.

@ Issybird, Maybe it's the perfume? I think he's pretty rude but as I am someone who finds most perfumes give me a migraine or at best make me sneeze I can understand his problem. I have only once asked someone to not wear their perfume (when she was working for me), explained that I have an allergy and it all worked out fine with no hard feelings. That said there is no excuse for his rudeness.

If that is the case he should start with, "this might sound weird but I a allergic to x and I believe the sunscreen you use has x in it because it causes a reaction. Would you please use a different brand. I know brands x,y, and z do not cause an allergic reaction."

It just goes beyond my understanding how one can be fined for not voting. In my understanding it lies fully within ones rights of free choice to abstain from voting. *sigh* how systems differ.

Thanks. I don't mind my freckles, even though I know they're considered a flaw. If my fairy godmother appeared, I'd change a bunch of things about my appearance, but I wouldn't be bothered about the freckles.

I grew up among the pasty-skinned and freckles were prevalent when I was a kid, but they're rare among kids these days. Copious sun-screening, clearly. Kids are fascinated by my speckled arms.

I assume he has a sensitivity to fragrance or even the propellant in the spray. That said, I'm sure you'd agree that there's a huge difference between being made ill by the scent worn by someone with whom you have to work in close contact, and casual and intermittent contact with a total stranger. I'm also guessing that you didn't ask your co-worker to forego deodorant or hand soap, because of their scents.

Who accomodates whom? If he were made truly ill by sunscreen, he'd obviously have to take serious steps to avoid contact which would probably preclude swimming in a public pool. I have to assume that this is a mild irritant and he'd rather not have it, which I understand, but it's a public pool and I'm really not making a public nuisance of myself. Perhaps he needs to swim farther away from me, instead of making it my issue? Some lanes are better than others and if he's willing to let his lane preference (we like the same lanes) trump his exposure to me, well, he's made that choice.
