I never got used to Bookerly. I used to use Charis SIL Modified Larger on my Kindles and Lexia DaMa on my Kobo. But recently I found I no longer enjoy CharisSIL. As the original Lexia DaMa didn't look too good on my Oasis, I enlarged and emboldened it a little, with FontForge. Now it's my new favorite font for Kindles.

Lexia DaMa is copyrighted, so I cannot share my modified version.

Adobe Garamond Pro is my go too font if not the Kobo default (tsukino)

BTW is there a way to get the tsukino font from kobo to use in anothernonkobo device?

For Hindi, I tend to use Mangal or Arial Unicode. For everything else, although I like Bookerly, for the last year or so, JSWolf's ChareInk has been my Kobo default. I'm going to try both Isidore and Literata Book on my Sage when it arrives.

I do not which is annoying and not typical behaviour according to the help article: https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/artic...-as-a-notebook
Interesting, good find. I don’t have this either after creating a notebook and using the stylus. Did you get a new stylus, or are you using an Elipsa one like I am? I noticed that the stylus works on both devices at the same time, but the battery status is only shown on the Elipsa. I wondered if it’s based on some type of pairing status and if there’s a way to change it, but I just did some tests (removed the stylus battery and power cycled both devices, which got the battery status to show on the Sage) and I still don’t see the notebook icon.

I'm hoping this is a good sign - one local online reseller said "pre-order, due Nov 10". The one I chose to buy from yesterday just said "awaiting stock" Then I got this email a few minutes ago
Quote:
Your order is ready for dispatch and waiting for the courier to collect for delivery to the address below. A tracking number will be emailed to you once the courier collects this item
Looks like it will be new toy time much sooner than expected.

I guess that is your way of saying you sent too much of your money on the sage?

Here we often say, 'it will be instant noodles for lunch for a year'

And food with thyme and rosemary are usually classy food

Actually, it was just a play on words and a reminder that I'm old

The store here usually end up buying my electronics stuff from here, JB HiFi, still has the Sage as pre-order but shows "Release Date - 19/10/21". The Libra 2 had that as well, but, a few days before the 19th change the date to 04/11/2021. And has since changed it to 11/11/2021.

I tried to phone them about the Sage early last week and they couldn't tell me anything. I ended up ordering direct from Kobo and the last status is "Onboard for delivery Tue 2 Nov, 8.33am" with an expected time of "Today, 1.12pm-3.12pm". Which is weirdly accurate and inaccurate at he same time.

The other reason I went to Kobo was that I wanted a stylus. I'm not that sure if I will use it, or that my wife will when she claims it, but, I wanted to try it. And the store had them at $129 but Kobo listed them at $69. No idea why there is such as difference the ereaders and other accessories are all listed as the same price in both stores.

And yes, I am constantly looking out the front window especially when I hear a noise

No online reseller here lists the stylus at all. Anyone browsing for ereaders would not know the device even offered a stylus option, if the resellers here were their only guide. it exists only on the Kobo store. All resellers here are offering the sleep cover, at the same price as listed on Kobo's site.

The stylus is offered in some European stores. I didn't buy it yet, though. I want to try my Surface pen first.

I'm interested in the power cover, which is also listed in various stores, but is not in stock anywhere.

Like the Stylus, the Power Cover is only mentioned at Kobo's own site here. While I might get the sleep cover and miiiight end up getting the sylus, the power cover is too much weight and too little gain for my usage/preferences.

Do we have a weight for the power cover? I’ve only gotten the battery being 1200MaH by asking Kobo, I’ve seen no specs otherwise

Yeah, I wouldn't use it while reading either. It's for charging between reading sessions (I'm pathologically lazy, so plugging the Sage in is too much effort when the charging cover exists. I used the charging cover of the Oasis 1 the same way and have only fond memories from the time.)
