No words this morning... only the signature tune of one of music's greatest guitar players doing his version of 'Black Mountain Rag.'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdUrg2Cqxdw Doc Watson passed away yesterday. Rest in peace, Doc. Good morning, everyone! Why do Thursdays always feel so 'in between?' It's as if we could just skip them, and no one would notice... Anyway, East India Company's "Royal Breakfast" tea today, along with some home-made breakfast sausage and scrambled eggs. Feels very 'American.' Eggs... eggs... In the US eggs are ALWAYS sold from refrigerated shelves in the markets. ALWAYS. When I moved to Asia, I NEVER found any shops in any Asian countries that cooled their eggs. Yet at the same time, the U.S. is plagued by frequent bouts of Salmonella poisoning carried by eggs... It's all very strange. Hey! I change my socks at least once a month whether they need it or not! Quote:
![]() Very few Americans have ever heard of paracetamol. By that name, anyway. Yet it can be found in every other country including Mexico and Canada! It's odd to note that soluble paracetamol is almost unheard of north of the Mason-Dixon line in America. Pill, capsule, gel-cap, etc., but no such thing as 'headache powders.' You have to go to the Southern states to find them, and there they are a common as dandelions! I never encountered 'headache powders' before moving to Japan, where many different medicines are dispensed in powder form... but NOT for mixing with water!! You dump the powder onto your tongue and then drink! It took me a bit of practice to get it right!. What a world! Stitchawl |

We were at the Farmers market last weekend and I saw farm fresh eggs. I was tempted to get some but we have a dozen eggs in the fridge. We are going to buy some when we are out of eggs at home. I want to try them.
We will not be adding chickens to our list of pets. I am certain that Caya and Cooper woul dnot understand that they are not to be tormented and god knows we are not going to have much spare time on our hands. On the plus side, we have peppers, broccoli, and zucchini starting to grow. The tomato plants are blooming like mad and should start producing stuff soon. Life is good in the garden. |

I'll pass on the rum. Just never been my alcohol of choice. But a nice single malt? Oh, definitely on the agenda for this evening!
Meanwhile, fixing breakfast. A couple of eggs from my own hens, bacon I cured from organic pork raised and slaughtered at a local farm, and toast from bread my sweetie made. Hard to go too far wrong! Oh, and a mug of Peet's Anniversary Breakfast Blend to finish off. |

. Had no idea paracetamol was unknown on the USA. Definitely my headache reliever of choice. Thanks for the best wishes. Just spent nearly 4 hours in the car again today and could hardly get out of the door when I got home. My boss even tried to send me home, as he could see I was in pain, though I tried to hide it, and in the end I left an hour early .Funnily enough, the same thing crossed my mind . I'm feeling so crap I am even contemplating getting my 10 yo daughter to have a go, but I might just be playing with fire .Quote:
