I made it.

I guess I was quite "lucky" with the Sainsburys deals. Everything that really appealed to me I already owned. I feel kind of glutted with second-division books right now, so I feel I can safely ignore everything that merely looks interesting.

(On the flip side, I guess, I only finished two books in October. I am trying to read some particularly long books at the moment, though.)

I've bought 7 more Delphi classics because of their 50% Gothic Novel discount. 7 collections for €7.21. Not too shabby.

I'll doubt I'll read EVERYTHING in those huge Delphi books, but still, each of them has at least 2 novels I want to read just because I know of them and haven't read them yet. Anything on top of that is extra

Been really watching the pennies, so haven't bought anything in the last couple of weeks. I have an Audible book coming in a couple of days, but that doesn't count since I had a credit to cover it. And I'm NOT GOING TO LOOK to see if there's a new Carousel Tides eARC up. Cause if I do look, I'll likely buy.

Went on a small binge with the Kobo codes. Purchased 8 books for $6.74 or 84 cents each.

Four were on my TBR list and the others MR recs.

My book-buying abstinence effort has fallen apart in the last two days because of astonishingly generous Kobo codes and a Minotaur sale at Amazon. The average spent was just over $1 a book for otherwise expensive books which I will read. Of course, I own as-yet unread books purchased from defunct BoB and Fictionwise using the same justification.

I will not buy any more ebooks this month!

I read all of GRRM's SOIAF series via Overdrive, and thought it was great the books were there and I didn't have to pay for them. Wellll.... when A Dance with Dragons finally dropped below $6 end of October I decided I had to have it, and since I didn't have the rest of the series.... well you guessed it, I decided I had to have them too. Oy.

I am going to try my best not to buy anymore books for the rest of the year. I mean, I have enough to last years and years, nevermind 2 months. There's always the library for new releases(Takedown Twenty). Alas, the reason for this, is Christmas shopping is more important than buying books for myself.

I can't really go the rest of the year without, since I haven't yet bought the Baen Bundle for January, and that goes off-sale on the 15th of December. But other than that? I can certainly try. If nothing else, I know I can get through November without any purchases. Well, except maybe the eARC for the next Carousel book from Sharon Lee.

Ah, must buy January because of the collection of Liaden short stories, a new 1632 novel, and a new novel from Frank Chadwick. I was really impressed with his first novel How Dark the World Becomes earlier this year. So with three books I'll likely buy, the bundle becomes a no-brainer.

I already have the Baen Bundle for December, and Grantville Gazette #50, and the issues of F&SF, Analog and Asimovs that are out in November. So I should be able to make it to December without another purchase.

I might even be able to read most of the books I bought in October!
