Honestly, I need another 80 years to read what I already have.

Ok.. how many of you suffered at the hands of the Kobo half off sale? I did pretty well partly because some books weren't eligible for the discount, so I didn't buy them. I painfully limited myself to getting books that were parts of series already started, like Morland Dynasty (I'm set up to book 19 now) and finishing off the Murder She Wrote. All focused on things Mom is reading and I have yet to get to.

I have started a new list of fill in books for future irresistible sales.

I have the joint addiction of ebooks and ereaders, but at least I no longer have the fear of the floor giving way thought the weight of paper books in, on and under everything.

Life is short and there are much worse afflictions to have.

I have more books than I will ever be able to read, and I can't see myself ever stopping as it has been a lifelong love affair with reading.

I would far rather have too many books to read than not enough (oh the horror of not having something waiting in the wings!) and I will be leaving them all to someone so it won't be a waste.

Of course what I really want is to take them with me - truly a cloud reader

I did real good with the Kobo 50% off. I only bought 4 books total. That was not too bad. I wanted to get so many more, but I kept talking myself out of it. I have to stay ahead of this addiction and not fall off the wagon.

I bought rather a lot, and it would've been more if the Big Five hadn't gone ineligible. At least I controlled the TBR pile somewhat; much of what I bought was stuff I own physical copies of but wanted to be able to carry around more easily.

I did pretty well during the 50% coupon splurge. Only a half dozen books, all ones I would have bought eventually anyway. But still too many for what I could afford right now. Personally, I'm actually glad the coupons no longer work for any of the evil^H^H^H^H Big 5.

In less than 12 hours, I will have made it through an entire calendar month without buying an ebook. I never thought I'd see the day. Assuming I haven't just cursed myself by announcing early.

OK, I'll have to make it to the 14th to have made a whole month without buying any books at all - I did buy three used paperbacks this month - but even so, no ebooks is a start.

Congratulations! (If that doens't Jinx it!)

I have been caught by several splendid offers, especially the (UK-Only) Sainsburys 99p ebooks. My total so far for the month is 45, my highest total for the year, just a little more than September's total of 37, which was mostly down to Kobo coupons.

I'm expecting to keep November and December down to single figures. Unless Sainsburys or another retailer produces similar bargain offers.

Amazing that Delphi even gives discounts, taking their normal prices into account.

I've bought 16 of their books using the 25% autumn discount (and apart from Lovecraft and Stoker, none were from the Gothic/Horror section, so maybe I can get some more )

That's about how I felt about B&N's Ray Bradbury sale yesterday. Ten books, mostly short story collections, each slashed from about $14 to $2. I didn't buy 'em all, but I came close.

It does feel a bit odd to be complaining about massive discounts on books that we know we'll enjoy reading….

I read this thread and then buy the sales anyway! You summed up what I was thinking earlier.

That conjunction gets me all the time! I've bought an insane number of ebooks this year, just because of "unless." Just when I think I'm done, "unless" kicks in again.

Knock wood, I'm (almost entirely) done buying for inventory, and future purchases will be limited to books I want to read now.
