A relatively good day today. After some research I found that supplements with magnesium and calcium relax muscles and have been know to help with jaw clenching during sleep.

I got some and took a pill. I hadn't realised that my jaw muscle was so incredibly tense, even during the day! After an hour my jaw had relaxed and the pain around the extraction area stopped. I'm going to take another pill an hour or so before I go to sleep, hopefully it will stop me from clenching. The molars on the left are still sensitive but hopefully it'll get a chance to heal and settle.

I think I started clenching because of the stress of going to the dentist but it continued because it didn't seem to heal and the area stayed sore and sensitive (basically I kept clenching because I clenched). Depending on how it goes during the next week I'll see if I'm going to discuss it with my dentist next week. If the pills work I don't see the need for a mouth guard.

Finger's crossed for it to work during my sleep!

L.L. Bean is getting to big for their britches!

I ordered three items... towels, to be precise.
All three were labeled 'In Stock and available for immediate shipment.'
When the shipping confirmation e-mail arrived a few days latter it read "Two items have been shipped. One item back ordered until Dec.4." When I looked back at the web site, it still showed that item IN STOCK! If he knew, Leon would be turning over in his grave.

You know why computerized inventories never work? Because the boss takes whatever he/she wants without telling anyone or theft.

I hate when TV commercials say something like "Buy product X and you will be helping Y. When you purchase X, a percentage of your cash goes to Y."

I'm always like "yeah, what percentage? 0.01%? 0.000000001%?"

I'm pretty sure that if it was a decent percentage they will be bragging about it.

Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream company donates 7.5% of pre-tax profit to charity as a standard business model. They also donate to other charities as they arise. I'd like to see Microsoft, Wal-Mart, and CityBank do something like this... Probably will, next time is snows in Miami Beach...

Over here we have door to door fund raisers selling lollies on behalf of well known charities. The charities license their names because it's a small percentage they can get. Usualy about 2%.

We had those here, too. Controversy climaxed some ten+ years ago after police officers' associations started using the door-to-door fundraising companies. Something must have changed, because it's been many years since I've encountered one of those at my door. They've entirely vanished.

In some cases people with back pain will get injections to relax the muscles instead of pain killers. That's because the muscles are clamping down on the nerves and irritating the them, which, in turn cause the muscles to clamp down on the nerves, which causes ....

Amazon did that to me when I ordered a motherboard last year.

For FOUR DAYS it said that it was in stock and my account said "Shipping Soon". On the fourth day I canceled the order and got what I needed from Newegg.

That turned out to be a blessing as what I ordered from Newegg was a far better system with a much better motherboard.

About a week ago I learned another lesson from Amazon. On many items you can get free shipping if it's over $25. Some items under $25 can get free shipping if they are bundled with other "free shipping" items totaling $25+ and sent in one package.

The lesson? Don't add trivial items to an important order. What I think happened was that in order to send my order in one package they had item #2 sent to the warehouse where item #1 was. Only THEN did they ship the two items to me. It took eleven days to receive two items listed as "in stock".

So just because it says that ten items are in stock, it doesn't mean that all the items are in one location.

The pills are working. My jaw muscle doesn't ache any more and the area around the extraction doesn't hurt that much, it still feels a bit swollen and bruised but I think that's normal. The two molars in front of the extraction still feel strange, numb-ish is the best way to describe it. I'll ask the dentist about it on Thursday.

Another problem is that I'm starting to get a cold and my throat is hurting. I can understand it if the dentist doesn't want to do the extraction when I have a throat infection/cold. I'll call them tomorrow to ask, hopefully the (replacing of the) fillings isn't a problem.
