Drat! I really was hoping to set a record today with my driving test. Now I'm just another statistic...

On one of the turns I looked left before I looked right... I'll take the test again on Friday.

Sometime I think this whole rigidity thing is just a cover-up for a massive money-making scheme... Every time you take the test, you have to pay about $25 USD for the exam and another $18 to rent their car. You are NOT allowed to use your own car. Considering the national average for attempts before passing is 11, that means it costs the average driver more than $365 just for taking the test for the license...

Thanks. Being able to take the test again so quickly surprised me. For the motorcycle test I had to wait a full week between tests.

I think you can partially blame the folks who cut music programs from school budgets.

Frank Zappa has been credited with saying, "Most people wouldn't know good music if it walked up and bit them in the a$$."

When I took my PPL they required you to wait 30 days between tests, this I was told was to weed out the people who aren't serious? When you fail the written test, you are still endorsed to fly solo, so really the written test isn't going to stop anyone from their flying, they are limited by laws, but no one is watching or are likely to care and not going to catch them.

Decisions, decisions.
My desktop computer is really in need of a reinstall. When I boot it up it crashes a couple of minutes after loading Windows (blue screen), after the reboot it will all day. The problem is that in my infinite wisdom I have put away my Windows disk in a "safe place" a while ago and now I can't find it anymore. At first I was planning on buying Windows 7 but then realised that it might be a better idea to save for a new computer instead, since this one is getting a bit old.

Because I'm going house sitting in two weeks' time plus some other expenses I know that are coming I won't be able to save as fast as I normally would so I expect I have enough money to buy the computer I want at the end of August.

Now I have 3 options:
1. Give this computer to my father for the store and work on my notebook until I've got a new computer. Problem: he'll want the Windows disk.

2. Get Windows 7 and reinstall it next week. Problem: will take longer to save for my computer.

3. Discuss it with my father and hopefully he (the store) is willing to pay for Windows 7 plus a reinstall when I get my new computer. Problem: might not work.

Starting to hate computers again.

Do you have your serial number? If so, download a copy of Windows from a torrent site. If you've paid for your Windows already, your serial number is all you need to install any file of the same OS, and you can download them from many different torrent sites on the Internet.
