It looks to me like the latest full LC and DD codes are only available for money. But I'd be delighted if someone could point to a legitimate free source.

FAST tags in the "normal" Tags column?
G'day. I was hoping to put the FAST tags into the normal Tags column because, so far, they seem consistently better curated than the random metadata sources out in the wild.
Is there an easy way to achieve this which I have not figured out yet? |

Hi. Thanks for the great plugin.
What's the 'pin' symbol in the attached picture, please? Also, why, when I convert ISBN 10 to 13, does calibre then only show the book that I've just changed? It shows "marked:true" in the search box. Not sure why the plugin needs to do that? I then cancel the 'search' and it takes me back to the full list of books. Seems like an unnecessary step, but clearly I'm missing something. |

People do more than 1 book on occasion
Mark (the push pin) allows any sort following and the mark remains until cleared/over written, allowing you to still see was was just done |

I mean I don't know what you mean by sort following. And how does one clear and how does one overwrite the mark? I don't know how to find a reference to the mark in the calibre documentation. Never mind though, it's no big deal. The mark goes away after a calibre restart. Thanks again. |

I've started to rewrite some of the stuff for this plugin. Not sure if purposefully unused, but I started using BeautifulSoup for the webscraper. All changes of course are GPLv3.

You are mistaken. LC uses calibre.ebooks.BeautifulSoup for getting worldcat data. LC uses the official "oclc_classify_api" for getting data from classify.oclc.org. They created that API, and they want people to use it. "Library Codes" has been a Calibre GUI plugin since 2015. Calibre does not allow multiple plugins with the identical name. "Library Codes" is the name that I created. You need to pick another. DaltonST |

I did use "calibre.ebooks.BeautifulSoup", but for a lot of the webscraper it just isn't used and just sits there and does nothing. Soup is made, but rarely used. And a lot of string manipulation is used when using BS is much more efficient. For example "parse_html_viaf" was 67 lines (counting empty and comments) uses 2 separate for loops to go through the same information to get different things. Essentially I just made it more simple, a single loop, using the tools (like calibre.ebooks.BeautifulSoup) provided. It is now 23 lines using the same metric.
Also I had no intentions of starting my own plugin/fork, I just figured because of the license of it I would take the chance to improve upon it. You're welcome to use the improvements I made of course due to the nature of the license and that I did for anyone who wanted it. |

Use worldcat.org/isbn when classify.oclc.org/classify2 fails.
When http://classify.oclc.org/classify2 can't find an OCLC number from an ISBN, https://www.worldcat.org/isbn/ should be used instead. It immediately does a 303 redirect to a URL containing the OCLC #.
For example: http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/C...=9781505115932 doesn't return any results, but https://www.worldcat.org/isbn/9781505115932 immediately redirects to https://www.worldcat.org/title/rules...clc/1145597595 The OCLC # is at the end: 1145597595 |
