I also quite like the Caecilia font. I find Bookerly to be too "weak" or light on the Paperwhite 3 for my taste. It looks fine on my iPad/iPhone, but it seems different on the PW3 to my eyes.

HarryT: "The Voyage sells extremely well, and personally I find its fonts to be absolutely fine. It's very much a matter of personal preference. I like the Voyage's default Caecilia font very much."
I agree with HarryT on this one. I don't understand the desire for more fonts unless none of the fonts available are suitable for you to read comfortably. Baskerville is the only font available on my Voyage and my Paperwhite that I don't care to use. But, it is a matter of personal preference. I am sure some people adore Baskerville. Bookerly did not impress me and I'm not using it. |

I thought it wasn't released for PW3 yet?

I don't like any of the fonts on the kindle. It's not just that I don't find the font faces pleasing, they're all just a tad too light and push my comfort threshold. Even if the kindle came with fifty fonts, I'd probably still not find one I like. I know 99% of people don't care but I do. This seems to happen to me a lot when it comes to tech products -- being stuck in the tiny minority that wants/needs things to work a certain way.
I'm holding on to my jailbroken pw2 for dear life ![]() |

One reason to want the ability to add fonts is that there is that one font that some like to read with and it's not on the Reader. The font I most use is not on any Reader and Kobo allows me to add the fonts I want.

The purpose of this thread is for people to give their first impressions of the PW3, not for you to tell us that you prefer the Kobo. Please take your Kobo opinions to the Kobo forum, where you may find people who are interested to hear your views. Any further posts from you which do not consist of your personal experiences of using a PW3 will be deleted. |

Bookerly is a lighter font than Caecilia on the PW3. But, it is better to read with. So on the PW3, it's a tradeoff depending on what you prefer.

Are you saying the Bookerly font is better to read with as a statement of fact or an opinion?

You wont be dissapointed
Very much doubt you will be disappointed. The transitio from paper to Kindle (a basic Kindle) took all of 10 minutes. Now moved onto a PW2 and very happy.

I've seen the Bookerly font on e-ink, but I think it was meant for the Fire. In any case, the base font was too light for my tastes, but the bold version was nice. But very similar to caecilia.
