I did, thanks. I went back and read through the first posts, then followed to the MrPI page and read about it there. I didn't yet have KUAL installed, but I got it taken care of, and I now have my screensavers working again. I am getting ready to install the BackDoorLock in KUAL to prevent any further silent updates. Thanks for the help.

In general, you should always mention the specific model of Kindle.

Hi, I am getting a new kindle paperwhite 2 in 2 months and i know its weird to want to jailbreak it even before i have it but i have been sharing a kindle with my mother and i find the screensaver to be completely distasteful (her version is the version is with the ads, and soon, mine would be the same) i was wondering, because the kindle is new, will the jailbreak work? i see no option to downgrade the kindle that i would imagine would be in its latest update. so i want to know before downloading the jailbreak files. plus, I just joined this site and thus will be oblivious to the acronyms on your post, so i know its a lot to ask, but you can you help me by explaining what mkk and all that stuff is? thanks

To add to what NiLuJe said, I would say that if your sole purpose is to jailbreak your new kindle with ads just to substitute its default screensaver with yours, I am afraid you're going to be disappointed anyway.
As NiLuJe said it's impossible to jailbreak a kindle shipped with latest fw version, you might be lucky enough to receive a kindle with an older fw version but, even in that case, the screensaver hack won't allow you to replace ADS screensaver.
