and cut the umbilical code. You must have had one of those grizzly cords I've heard of, because it didn't seem that difficult. It was crazy. I can't even imagine missing it now.@ProfCrash: I'm not sure about in the US, but we had a doula along with us. She was very helpful in preparing for the birth and making sure we both knew all of our options and how things would transpire. |

My Doctor is pretty communicative and I have already asked her her opinions on C Sections. She said that she would only recommend one if it was necessary due to my health ot the health of the baby. I am cool with that.

I just questioned BigGirl, with whom I am sharing the wonderful conversations that we are having on this thread. She told me that one forgets everything, the pains, the fears, the trepidations. She was afraid, like everybody. But not of the pains as such, but mostly that it did come up nicely, the baby she means. And everything was just right actually. The trepidation is part of it. But one keeps trepidating for the kids all life long in any case. She read this and said that it is right. ![]() So Prof, dear one. We are all teaming with you and sending you all the good vibes. The idea of good and bad calories is exactly right. Instead of only fruits that have a bit too many simple sugars, get some more veggies and all_grain_cereals (stone milled) that are more complex: oats for instance, rye, buckwheat. They take a bit more to release their sugars, so one feels more satisfied for longer time: a bit of fat with them helps to slow assimilation. Also try to use as much variety as you can. I would also try to get only bio products: they have less poisons. For us it is not so bad, but for the young ones, that are forced to eat the new agricultural products from the start, it could make a difference. |

I try and buy organic. I have a decent size salad at least once a day and try to snack on carrots as well. I recently read a study that said the more veggies you eat when you are pregnant the more likely the kid is to eat their veggies. My salads include broccoli, onions, tomatoes, peppers, mixed greens, spinich, carrots, and other veggies. I am trying to take in at least two servings of veggies a day with lunch.
Bread wise: We are making our own at home and use either whole grains or whole wheat for most of what we make. I do need to get back into the habit of snacking on bread with peanut butter when I get home for work. A good protein boose and some whole grains. And it goes well with skim milk. Speaking of home, I am out of here. |

Good. You know. As a matter of fact LittleGirl is avid of veggies, with our intense satisfaction.
Just for any body that is not aware I allow myself to post this, that I found useful: here is a list of produce with the highest level of pesticide contamination. The following list is based on information and studies by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Consumer Reports, and the Environmental Working Group.

Grey and grim outside. Working on changes to article (feature got dropped at the last minute - I hate when that happens!)

Slow down, you move too fast. You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin' groovy. Ba da, Ba da, Ba da, Ba da...Feelin' Groovy. Hello lamp-post, What cha knowin'? I've come to watch your flowers growin'. Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in' doo-doo, Feelin' groovy. I've got no deeds to do, No promises to keep. I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep. Let the morning time drop all its petals on me. Life, I love you, All is groovy. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KZi-aV0VTk ) Good morning, everyone! It's a beautiful day! No sun, cold outside but... I'm inside, and I feel good. Who could ask for more? My opinion may well change when I do go out, but right now...? Hey, I got a big mug of East India Company's 'Assam' tea in front of me, beside a bowl of museli with assorted fruit and yogurt on top. I've go no complaints! That is sooooo important. When my wife first became pregnant, she was hearing so many conflicting stories about the different baby doctors in town. This one said Dr.X is great while another said Dr.X was horrible! Impossible to make up her mind and feel comfortable... So... she found a pediatrician brand new to our town, none of her friends knew anything about him, and we gave him a try. From the first visit we knew we found a good one, and he remained my son's doctor all through his childhood. We could trust him. I find that I can trust a doctor who admits 'I don't know' to a question rather than making up a lot of gobbldygook trying to look important. Quote:
Isn't it wonderful to have a tea that so totally matches the weather! I'm going to have another mug of Assam, and get to my chores! Stitchawl |
