I don't even NEED an update. I'm happy with my Cybook the way it is. I have about 30 books on it. I don't need folder support. And mine never crashes, its fine.

But I do get SOOOOOOOOOO tired of all the promises by Bookeen.
Get real people.....If you can't even supply a feature-LIST on an announced date, what can you do???????

I don't NEED and probably even don't want the update. I keep reading my drm-mobi-books with dictionary support instead of epub without.

I'm just saying Bookeen is making a complete fool of themselves with all these promises they don't keep........

The lack of patience probably comes because we were hoping for folder support since the first release of the Gen 3. It was probably our fault -- I certainly can't track any documentation back that far, however, many of us were excitedly expecting a new firmware with folders.

Instead, after many false announcement, we got a few bug fixes, and some folks reported mixed results with those.

My take is the biggest issue now is how you use your reader. If you keep a handful of books on it then its OK. However, if you keep several hundred (like I did back when I had one) then you not only want folders, but the startup time is a real pain.

I think the starup time can be reduced by putting all the books in a sub directory.

We'll, it's about half an hour till midnight, and there's no news update so far. Yeah, I know, they didn't tell us which Monday, but I feel cheated. This is ridiculous. It's not such a big mystery (not since the Weltbild firmware) anymore, what the update will include, and it's just a few lines of information.

How tough can it be to write them down?

The consolation is that since they only told Geoff about it at the end of last week, then even if they take three times as long as they said to update the blog with the information we'll still have it within a couple of weeks.

Yeah well... They've been promising 'folder support' since I had my first Gen3 (the evaluation unit with firmware version 0.91). That would be back in late 2007. So please forgive me if I take *ANY* promise with a Texas-sized grain of salt. And don't even get me *started* on the inadvisability of marketing a device WITH a 'Delete' button that doesn't *DELETE*!!!

I don't know how patience is handled by eternal beings.

But as a mortal I consider my life span to be somewhat about 80 years. These "couple of weeks" sure add to quite a larger amount of time waiting. And I seriously am curious if I'm still around when/if the firmware update finally walks the earth ...
