To the Entourage employees: Is there something going on at Entourage that might explain this lack of communication? We were expecting an update by the middle of this month (March, 2011), but I, at least, have not heard or seen a word about whether it is coming or is going to be pushed back (again). Are you guys so busy working on updates, or a new version of the Edge(s), that you have no time to keep us informed? Or, as it has been rumored, is there a shakeup in the company that is coming and no one is telling the customers? I know that this post will in all likely-hood go unanswered, but I thought that you, as employees of Entourage, have by your lack of communication to us the customers, worried most of us about the future of our beloved Dualbooks!

Please don't get me wrong, I love my EE and am leaning towards buying a new PE, but the lack of forthcomingness (is that a word, if not, I claim invention of it) about future releases is concerning me. That is the reason that I haven't already bought a PE yet.

*NOTE TO NEW OR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS* - I, and many of my fellow Dualbook users are extremely satisfied with our purchases, I just would like to have more communication from the company and am showing concern and interest in that matter, since I, and others really love our devices and want only the best for Entourage.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. The situation is dire in Sendai, and despite the fact that I live about 100 miles from there, I am most fortunate that the terrible earthquake has had little impact on my life other than being stranded for a day last Friday. My thoughts are with those whose lives have been changed forever by these events.

1. Thoughts and prayers for everyone who survived the quake and tsunami, and especially for those who didn't. The forces of nature and commerce connect us all.

2. I've been wondering all along -- is it possible that EnTourage had an influx of business after CES? They might have decided not to hire extra (temporary?) people to handle the extra questions/problems that would cause. Disagreements about how to handle expansion could have driven away the two who left around that time. The eDGe is a complicated piece of equipment with a steepish learning curve, at least for me. If they are selling to schools (for instance), or expanding internationally, they could be up to their necks in customer support issues, while putting any profits into development rather than personnel.

I'm just speculating wildly -- hope you don't mind!

3. I'm really enjoying my Pocket eDGe, which I'm mostly using as an ereader-with-bonuses until I take the time to learn more of its functions, but I kinda wish I had the big eDGe (too)!

Glad to see you check in, too, alefor. We've been watching in horror from this side of the world. All the best to you over there.

Thank you so much for the kind thoughts. I am amazed how bad it really is, so close to where I am. I watch with horror as well.

I fear this is the only reply we have (or will) get for a while.

Mr. T you are probably right. Just makes it very frustrating.

I browsed around but did not look hard, did they ever announce what the "mystery" update for pocket edge was about? I know it wasn't for the EE. But still a little sketch as to why they wouldn't comment on that.

They are located near Freddie Mac so maybe the gremlins spread out and attacked Entourage preventing communication. Thinking people should stay away from McLean, VA. A company I worked for until November had an office there. They are now poof be gone.

Yeah, I read that. Was actually hoping that if we keep pestering eloquent, that it might shake some communications from ANYONE at Entourage. Oh well!

Things around here are quite normal, although we are now starting to see shortages of gasoline, and supermarket shelves are truly empty. There are rolling blackouts to preserve electricity, but all of these things are truly trivial compared to the destruction and disruption so close to me. I am fortunate indeed.

Good attempt. Thanks for trying. I cant help but think that everyone at Entourage is preoccupied with some big corporate happening.

Glad you're okay Alefor. My Japanese friends here in UK are also relieved that their families back in Japan were spared.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Our problems are mere inconveniences and we are most fortunate.

It looks to me that Entourage should forget about updates for the Edge and work on their next tablet, I want froyo as much as anyone, but I don't want it to bankrupt Entourage...

It's scary right now owning an Edge, maybe we should talk about how to use are still perfectly useful edges in a post Entourage Inc. World....

I know I'm talking about a shaky subject, but it's the large elephant in the room that no one is addressing yet we're all thinking about...

I do still love this company... I have been with them since the beginning and own a PE and a EE
I just hope they survive or get aquired...

I mean, no updates, people leaving, feuding... unfortunately, I've seen this story many times before...

Glad to hear you're safe. I waited in suspense for a day, not hearing from two friends in Tokyo. They're far south of the devastation but were having trouble reaching people by phone. With the most recent news reports and the latest (today's) quake, however, I'm starting to wonder if I should roll out the sofa bed for them--assuming they could get out.

It's a very particular kind of horror to watch helplessly while people suffer.

Hope this latest quake and the radiation troubles steer clear of you and yours.
