Spam, Spam, Spam!
I just received an email from a company I was working with for the last few months warning me that there is a "Job Search" scam. I don't have an issue with them sending me the email, in fact I think it was very nice of them, except that the idiot that sent the warning to me also sent it to the $#%^^& spammers! So noe I am getting freaking email from them too, I have a few different email accounts and this particular one I use exclusively for work and contracts, now it looks like I'll have to deal with the bloody spam!
The email they sent to me (actually copies of the warning email) are below, if you would like to read them, I hid them to save space. Spoiler:

The bimbo, I just spoke to her on the phone, replied to the sender (spammer) and CC'd it to everyone in her contacts list, this is an insurance company so I assume she had a lot!
Sorry for using the "B" word there, but she is and I need a drink ![]() |

Yeah, spammers suck! I've had the same email address for almost 20 years now and I have it pretty well handled by using a local spam managing client. But when I use a different computer or method (such as webmail or Xoom or Droid) to access the mail server I get all that friggin' spam.
Spammers SUCK! |

Yep, I agree, spammers should be found, locked up and required to serve out there sentences hand writing apology letters to everyone that received their spam.
My favorite ones are the emails that just say "hiya" in the subject line and their name is always something like Mike, Jenna or Bill and the English is so bad it's almost impossible to get |

I work for a coporate lawfirm, and my current client has about 150,000 employees. For simplicity's sake, I have both a firm email address and a client email address. And I cannot tell you how many spam attacks have gone viral due to dinosaurs and ditzes that think that the "Reply to All" button is a GOOD idea for telling people to stop spamming.

GMail has the best spam filters I've seen. It's Bayesian filtering, but the spam database it classifies against is built from every GMail users "Report spam" clicks. Essentially, I'll see a new spam once. It's also very good about false positives. I see very few. (Ironically, the most fertile source of them for a while was mail sent out from a mailing list devoted to a good open source spam filtering tool. ![]() I know folks who forward all mail through GMail to clean it before they get it. ______ Dennis |

I don't get WoW spam - most of what I'm getting these days aside from the usual Viagra, cheap prescription drugs, and penis enlargement spams is a variety of phishes. (I was deeply amused to get one claiming to be from a representative of former Egyptian President Mubarak, looking to move assets out of Egypt. ![]() But all such things do not appear in my Inbox. The wind up labeled as Spam, and I only see them if I display mail so labeled. (I do that periodically to delete them, but if I didn't, GMail would zap them after 30 days anyway.) There's no way to not have them delivered at all, but I don't care. I only see them if I specifically choose to look, and I only do that to delete them. I'm perfectly capable of ignoring them until I do. ![]() ______ Dennis |
