When I lived in Thailand, we used to give a prize to the first person who spotted a motorscooter with 5 or more passengers... Seen daily with kids coming home from school or families going shopping on Sundays. Mom, Dad, two pre-teens and one toddler... all on a 10 year old 50cc Honda Wave.

@stitch yep, that's how bad the corruption here at all levels is. The politicians get a budget, and they use substandard materials as well as labor to do it cheaply, and they pocket the rest of the money. Theres also little coordination between government agencies. Whenever a road gets finished and is done well, before the month is over, the roads are bing destroyed by the water company to install pipes or repair or whatever. And they never redo the road properly. There will now be an uneven patch.

Long story short - a few days ago a large book trader (something like a physical amazon) in my home country made a contract with the largest mobile operator for selling ebooks through the operators website. It's a 1-year exclusive, and it's only DRMed PDF and ePub, but it's bringing some of the bigger publishers along.
It's kind ob a very, very slow and late start, but I might actually enjoy ebooks in my language (bought that is) in... let's say 5 years from now

The farther from an Interstate or Freeway the better when I ride, I like the dual lane roads the best, they tend to be well paved, m talking in the US and Canada. Here the only good roads are the major highways, the nice twisty back roads are full of pot holes and the occasional cow, but if you ride well it;s a non issue. I've never ridden in any other Asian country so we'll see


The Roti man is my favorite rider here in Malaysia, I have seen them riding when you couldn't see the driver, just his head sticking above the bread in the front.



The highest number of people I have ever seen on a single scooter was 5, something like this..



The scariest riders here are the Mat Rempit, these kids ride around doing insane things, they are also linked with gangs, snatch thefts (purse snatching), drugs and even prostitution. The pictures of the guys riding in my earlier post were Mat Rempit.

Mondays aren't really that bad, it's a new fresh week, nothing bad has happen yet, hell Mondays are way better than Wednesdays. Wednesdays are like middle age, you remember that you had a a great childhood and young adulthood but all you have to look forward too is turning into your parents and starting to be in pain continuously.

Mondays are far better, see?
