I've been a rider for thirty years and I hope someday to ride all through Asia. My goal is to ride from Singapore to Canada. Via Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and then China (China poses the biggest challenge) then into Korea across to Japan and then a slow boat to Canada (Vancouver) and a short ride back to Alberta.

I've ridden all over Canada and the States, but Asia is like another world, a world where the motorcycle is the prey and the cars are the predators, the bikes need to be very aware and quick!

oh god, yes. not only prey, but target practice! kidding x.x; almost someone here dies everyday. or at least gets into a motorcycle-related accident. and people here are wary of motorcycles since that's how thieves steal. they just zoom by, grab the bag and bye bye!

In Malaysia every year more than 6500 people die on the roads, 75% of that are motorcycle riders.







These are common sights, on the roads here. There are very few big motorcycles, 600cc is considered a "Superbike" Unfortunately the next picture is also common, warning it is graphic! PLEASE DO NOT OPEN IF GORE BOTHERS YOU!

yeah, it's really dangerous here too. i'm also kind of scared by people on motorcycles.

but people here don't really do "tricks" as the roads here are not smooth. most of the roads here are paved by HAND, not machine.

I think it's mostly older people who fall for it. They see an email which looks like it's been sent by their bank (the emails get better with less to no grammar/spelling errors and with all the logos) and they assume it's from their bank. In the past they got snailmail from the bank and never had to wonder if it was a scam or not. Younger people have grown up with emails scams and are more wary about trusting any email.

I don't use both so it's fairly easy to notice

I regularly get those types of emails from eBay and PayPal, if my spamfilters don't catch them I delete them myself.

It wouldn't surprise me if in the coming weeks the banks release a press statement that it's phishing season again and people shouldn't trust emails asking for certain details.
