I pointed out a few posts ago that Defying the Odds by Kele Moon was free. I just noticed that the second book in the series, Starcrossed is on sale for $0.99.

I loved this book. The heroine is a lawyer and former MMA fighter. She's strong and determined, knows what she wants and goes after it, and is not at all TSTL. She gets involved with an MMA fighter who is her brother's biggest rival and whose family is involved with the mafia. Fireworks ensue.

3dusty,

I did not receive any email from Harlequin about a $1.99 sale. I did find plenty on Amazon though (and compared with the Harlequin site where they were not marked down).

I purchased 12 from Amazon and forwarded the receipts to Harlequin. I didn't know there was a limited of 10 receipt emails a day. I also received 1000 My Rewards points for each eBook...is that correct?

I really enjoyed Defying the Odds, and I especially liked Jules/Juliet. Really well written characters all around.

I've added this author to my list of writers to look for.

My most problems stem from the author portraying being five foot as severely handicap. As one of the vertical challenge I was really annoyed at all the little and short comments. The author made Lucy sound as tiny as a little kid. It seemed all others treated her as a little person. There was also some fat shaming going on.

I will avoid that book. I know a woman that is 3 foot tall. Oh and my aunt is 5 foot. My mom is 5 foot 2. So no short jokes from me.
Can't do tall jokes either. My dad was 6'5. I have a female cousin that is 6'2 and a male cousin that is 6'9. My son is just a giant. He got my family's height and his dad's weight. He is all muscle. He is either 6'4 or 6'5.

6'4 is standard male height in romance land. Specially in historicals.

I'm 5'3 but I tell everyone 5'5. My sister is 5'0, My cousin 4'7 and my aunt is 4'0. Yes we are petite but none of us look at ourselves as handicapped like this book made it sound.

I married a 6'1 man to reach things I can't. lol

Height is only a handicap if one is trying to keep a shorter person from hurting themselves because they reached over their heads trying to prove they could reach everything monkey arms could. Monkey Arm's wrist got hurt trying to catch that box.
Note if one is of a normal height with normal arms, do not hurt the long limbed one by trying to reach as high as they can.

Great. I just bought a bunch of the 1.99 books - which show up on my ebook retailer as 1.99. However, now that I've bought them and have my receipt, the ebook retailer has them all listed at 2.25 each. Not sure how that is going to work for the points promotion.

Do the email receipts show you paid $1.99? That's all that matters as it's your receipts you forward to Harlequin. If the email shows $2.25 as the list price it should still show that you bought them at a discount for $1.99. Also Harlequin should know which titles were part of the sale and which ones were not.

The extra 26 cents could be sales tax too.

I'm only 5'2" and that's not a handicap. I do most of the lifting/carrying/putting stuff away at work. We have stepstools and ladders and I have taller coworkers if I need a taller person for something.

You are smart. Oh and do know most taller people have shorter moms. We don't want to get hurt by mom if we don't help someone.

i'm 5' 3.5" and my husband is a whopping 6' 7". when i see our reflections, i'm always startled at the height difference, since after almost 18 years together, i don't think about it much.
