2 free novellas:

Unwrapping Her Perfect Match by Kat Latham. I really enjoyed this Christmas novella which is part of the author's London Legends rugby series. It can definitely be read as a standalone (I hadn't read any of the other books in the series when I read it).

Spoiler:
’Twas a week before Christmas, and at the auction house...

At six foot one, Gwen Chambers has felt like a giant her whole life. She’s a calm, capable nurse saving lives in a busy London hospital, but healthy men give her heart palpitations. When larger-than-life rugby player “Little” John Sheldon convinces her to bid on him in his team’s fundraising auction, she discovers how pleasurable heart palpitations can be.

A rugby player was stirring, with desire no one could douse...

John has wanted Gwen since he first saw her, but when he’s injured in a match just before Christmas he suddenly needs her too. Not only can the sexy nurse help him recover, but she might be able to help him look after his daughter—a shy ten-year-old who speaks only French.

But will it be a Happy Christmas for all, and for all a good night?

From decorating the Christmas tree to ice skating at the Tower of London, Gwen helps father and daughter open up and bond with each other—and she bonds right along with them. But when John's agent calls with a life-changing offer, Gwen has to decide how far she’s willing to go for her perfect match. Will their first Noël also be their last?

Defying The Odds by Kele Moon. This was a good start to the series. I really liked the following 2 full-length books.

Spoiler:
When struggling waitress Melody Dylan gives a handsome, lonely stranger a simple gift she has no clue her life is about to take a drastic turn.

The stranger ends up being Clay Powers, a famous UFC heavyweight fighter. Clay’s large build and dangerous fists have always intimidated. People in his hometown keep their distance and Clay is fine with that. Everything changes when a new waitress at the local diner buys him a piece of pie on Thanksgiving. Touched by the gesture when it’s obvious she can barely afford to survive, her warm smile and lush body churn up powerful feelings that leave Clay wanting more from her than pie.

Melody is running from her past and the small, country town of Garnet is the perfect hiding place. With an ex-husband after her and scars from her abusive marriage etched deep, the last thing she expects is to fall for a man who makes a living with his fists, but she can’t resist Clay or the tender connection they share.

Finding love in the most unlikely of places, the passion is undeniable, but Clay and Melody know their haunted pasts and unpredictable futures leave the odds stacked against them.

For those of you that do not leave this thread be sure to check out ATDrake's thread on freebies from Diversion Books. I must of pick up a dozen romances I didn't have. Some back list titles like Anita Mills, Lisa Bingham and Nan Ryan just to name a few.

I just finished The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I did not like it. I have never disliked a heroine as much as I do Lucy. First off there is no character growth at all. The secondary characters are used as props. Third the heroine acted like a five year old and she's 28. I found her deranged.

My most problems stem from the author portraying being five foot as severely handicap. As one of the vertical challenge I was really annoyed at all the little and short comments. The author made Lucy sound as tiny as a little kid. It seemed all others treated her as a little person. There was also some fat shaming going on.

Suddenly One Summer by Julie James (FBI/US Attorney #6) on sale for $1.99 (repeat sale, was also this price back in July)

Spoiler:
From the New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Wedding comes a novel about a man and a woman whose summer is about to get very, very hot...

Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn't mean she's opposed to casual dating—just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister's case, she's as determined to win as ever—even if that means teaming up with Ford....

Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He's willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. He might not be looking to settle down, but there's no denying the scorching attraction between them. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for…

I did end up calling Harlequin customer service about my points, and I was very pleasantly surprised. They were most helpful, and they gave me credit for the points I thought I should have received (a significant number). However, I was partially in the wrong it seems. I did correctly submit my receipt, but apparently the September series bonus did not apply to series books purchased in the month of September (which is how I read & understood the information on their website), but to September releases - those series books with September on the spine. Since I made my purchases on the 19th, most of the books that were out were actually the October releases. They gave me the points credits anyway, even though I misunderstood, which I thought very nice of them, since it essentially boils down to them giving me free books even though it was my misunderstanding.

Maybe Harlequin decided to be lowkey with the Rewards with this big sale at the end of the week?

I got the email, but there was no link to the sale. Is there a specific link or just any book with the $1.99 price?
Thanks

For those of you who have i devices (iPhone, iPad or Macs), Apple has a Romance Read of the Month club where you get a free book each month. This month's is Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre. I absolutely loved this book as well as her Blindfolded Innocence trilogy.

Here's the link to sign up:

I'm not sure? Someone with better advanced search skills than me might be able to provide a link.
