Amazon updated the firmware of KPW2 and kindle 7th gen. to 5.6.1.0.2. It should be a bug fix.
It is fortunately the jailbroken hotfix worked on this new firmware. I've jailbroken KPW2 on 5.6.1 and updated 5.6.1.0.2. It is still jailbroken. So you can upgrade to the the latest firmware with a jailbroken kindle. Also reminded that if you installed KPVBooklet for launching KOReader, you need uninstall KPVBooklet then reinstall it again to make it effective. Last edited by mfirewire; 12-18-2014 at 01:29 AM. |

@mfirewire: Yep, my timing was to our advantage there, the hotfix *should* also run on 5.6.0.2, for people that got that one on top of 5.6.1 and are still running an outdated JailBreak

Thank you very much!!! I thought that the only way to salvage my PW2 was to disassemble it completely.
Thank you! )) |

This is the latest jailbreak.
After any Amazon update, you must reinstall all hacks. I assume the reason you need to use this is because you got the 5.6.1 update ![]() |

Yes, that's exactly the reason.

Yes, it is a hack and falls under the category of "all".

You can still jailbreak it if you open it up and use the serial port. |

So I have firmware 5.4.3.2 on PW2. It's jaibroken with JB ver. <1.10 (I don't remember). And now I want update to 5.6.1. I should first reinstall JB 1.14 and then update? Or first use 1.14-fix?

@dipeste: Last I checked, no. That said, kaznelson has posted mostly complete instructions on how to DIY.
