Sorry for the belated YourClassical free download of the day today. With this being Friday, and the last day of the week for YourClassical posts, however, you don't have to rush to get it downloaded by 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time tomorrow morning--the same post will be up through the entire weekend, up until early Monday morning.

You may notice some erratic behavior like this on my part for a while. I have a medical issue, serious enough that it may require a partial amputation; I was in the hospital today on a more-or-less emergency visit related to it. I have no idea how much more disruption of my life will be necessary because of this. Please bear with me, as I try to keep posting the many periodic musical pieces that we're able to get free. Of course, if there is someone who is willing to post one or more of the usual ones, by all means please do!

YourClassical is offering us Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Sonata No.5 "Spring": IV. Rondo for free today. This rendition is performed by Takako Nishizaki on the violin, and Jeno Jando is on the piano. YourClassical provides a dedicated webpage for this free piece here. It has lots more helpful information.

On that webpage you can also stream the 6 minute, 42 second piece. Alternatively, or additionally, you may also download the free MP3 by clicking on "Direct MP3 download link."

The album that our freebie comes from, as is so often the case, is a Naxos one. Although information is a little more sparse this time than most of their other dedicated webpages for albums, there is still quite a bit on their dedicated webpage for this album.

In order to test the download to make sure that it works, and also to be able to give (marginally helpful) personal thoughts on the free pieces, I listen to the complete pieces before I finish each post of each free YourClassical download. I must admit a bias--I don't care much for Beethoven's music (I know, that's almost un-American. ha!). So, it is hard for me to judge this one.

Today's eMusic freebie sounds good, although to my ears, it is "a little rough around the edges." You may have a more favorable opinion, and that's fine. Also, as the group presumably composes songs and plays more in the future, the rough edges (assuming that they are on every song that they compose/play now) inevitably will smooth out.

The free piece stays on my hard drive. Give it a listen, at least.

Google offers are frequently mentioned here. Google is very selective about certain offers. I have typically used every offer they sent me and now they rarely send me any. Yet my wife never uses them, but she always sends them to me so I use her's. If you have a spouse or friend willing to forward Google offers to you via email they will work when you click on the links in an email. Just FYI.

FYI--eMusic has been spitting out reruns the last few days. At least they are given names and the designation of being second copies when I go to save them on my hard drive.

The sampler includes the entire songs?

Often when I see "sampler," I think that it might be the just first minute of each song, a random part of the song, etc.--not the full songs.

Of course, I could check this for myself, but it will save me the effort if you do it.
