Big girl and me have lunch together, always in the same trattoria. At the end of the meal we go to the bar and I pay the bill with plastic. We take our coffee there, standing, as it is the custom in Milano. We exchange jokes with the owner. The coffe is not so great.

To day I told him, make only one coffee, for her. He replied you are also cutting on the coffee now? I do not drink wine any more, do not eat bread, do not put oil in my salad .... Why should I poison myself with his lousy coffee, that used to be good. I do not understand them. They charge 1 euro and it costs them 10 cents. Why should he not give us the best espresso in town? A good coffee is a must for a restaurateur.

I looked him up. He understood and turned his back not to have to hear me saying to big girl it is not a big loss.

I think that one can be in love (i mean like you say, head over heels) with only one. At the time. For as long as possible, for as long as it lasts.

Good morning, all! Love is in the air, all right! I woke up with the King singing inside my head, sounding just as fresh as before 'the Day the Music Died.' Those were wonderful times!

Time now for a mug of Ahmad English Breakfast Tea and a bowl of muesli with some fresh mango and home-made yogurt. Fresh! But wait... can yogurt be fresh? I mean, it's spoiled milk, right? Freshly spoiled?

I should say it's worth a try!
While in the States for my son's wedding, I had the opportunity to spend time with three ex-girlfriends and one ex-wife, at one point '2+1' of them at the same time for most of an afternoon/evening. It was a delightful trip down memory lane for all of us. Each of us is currently happily married, and have been for many years. They all knew 'OF' each other, but had never met before. And except for some good-natured teasing (roasting?) about some of my baser habits (which I was forced to endure,) a wonderful time was had by all!

I've kept in touch with all of the 'important' ones, the women who were 'significant' in my life; those I've lived with and those I've loved. There is only one who I can't connect with, and she was my very first 'important' girlfriend. Three years together, my 'Steady' in High School, who dumped me while I was away working for the summer. It was my only "Dear John" letter. I can remember the words even to this day...

Time for a second mug of Ahmad. At least good tea stays true.

I think that one can be in love (i mean like you say, head over heels) with only one. At the time. For as long as possible, for as long as it lasts.

I think one can love two persons at the same time, but one has to make a choice and stick to it. I don't regret the choice I have made.
