Try again, but without changing the url, use the default one, repack and install the firmware. Tell me if your default bookstore works.

Read my previous post for the custom bookstore icon.

OK, then change the default url for the new one (google.fr) and fill the rest with / (hex 2F) like google.fr/////////

Respect the 00 original at the end.

Oh wow!

Took the Acid Test for the lulz, and came back to the home screen.

Simply rebooting the device fixes this kind of… overflow, I guess.

Please refer to legal agreement. ( http://opensource.samsung.com -> TV&Video -> find model name by E60 -> click 10_E60.zip -> legal agreement )

We reply to you as follows:
E60 supported rescue mode with microSD.
* How to rescue

a. Change the F/W file name to E60k.bin.
b. Make the folder to \Firmware_Update in microSD and Copy E60k.bin to \Firmware_Update.
c. Power off E60.
d. The microSD insert to E60.
e. Press Volume Up + Power Btn until showing the rescue mode screen.
f. When completed F/W Update, seperate battery.

P.S ) E60 is not supported serial/usb console for debug.

FYI the rescue mode is working on a non bricked device but haven't tested it on a bricked device.

Tuto

Hi,
I recently bought the french E60.
I read all posts in this thread, and I'm wondering if someone planes to make step-by-step illustrated tutorial about how to make google.fr your Home Page ? (not with the ruby script method)

Also,
Did someone asked samsung the source code of their MainApp ? (They will probably not provide it... but who knows...)

Thanks,

KK

I asked for it, but didn't have any reply. I don't have a trace of my inquiry, so I just sent another one in case the first one was lost, but I don't see any trace of it either.

Some progress on the french side: we enabled the telnet daemon using this custom firmware: http://ps3linux.fr/E60/patched+x/

Just create a customrun.sh file at the root of the device and copy this to the file:

Code:
#!/bin/sh
mount devpts /dev/pts -t devpts
telnetd -l /bin/sh
It will be renamed and executed on the next device reboot (to avoid any bricking script, it is renamed). Then you'll just have to telnet to the device, you'll get full root access to the device.

Someone also reported success at executing compiled code using Samsungs' toolchain. Very promising indeed!

Hello,

I think that it would be useful to put & in the script we do to avoid a hang of the system in case of error.
#!/bin/sh
mount devpts /dev/pts -t devpts
telnetd -l /bin/sh &
