Got my new Oasis today, first impressions

It’s not a great picture...this is my new Oasis on the right, my husband’s 2nd gen Paperwhite on the left, same book same font settings. Brightness at 100% on both devices.

The color temperature of the LEDs seems to me to be about the same as all the other front-lit Kindles I've owned. Hopefully the next version will go for warm white. That's now the last feature not offered that I want.

Or perhaps someday someone will make a tempered glass overlay to do the shift. I came across a tempered glass warm-white screen protector when getting accessories for the iPhone X that should come next month sometime. In that case, it struck me as redundant because iOS offers a warm-white color-shift option already, so why bother?

I agree with you! When I compare my original Oasis version with the new Oasis the screen quality is the same (excellent). The lighting is very even on the larger screen. I need to spend some time reading in the dark tonight (which is where I typically read) but so far I am very pleased. I was afraid there might be a step back in terms of lighting on the larger screen but so far I think Amazon nailed it for me.

I sent a 12 page PDF to it. It seems fine, but I don't usually use PDF files on my readers. You have the contrast controls and pan & scan to move around on the page. It seems pretty snappy for what it's doing.

Came here to be impressed with the new Oasis. Leaving disappointed. Mine will be here tomorrow, but it's clear Amazon has not addressed the green/pink tinge to all their Kindles. Why don't people care about this?!

Sigh... I guess I'll be returning mine.

It was good enough for me, on my pw3 after some croping in acrobat. Just waited any faster page turning

Did the update but still cannot find the battery percentage

Ok, the battery percentage shows if you have the Accessibility option set to Larger instead of Normal.

I was showing it to my husband, and saw the percentage go away when we changed the setting.

Please list your font, size and bolding? Interested to see how much can fit across the screen. I'm using size 6 Ember with 1 bold and the sentences are too short in my PW.

I know some people have been creating ePubs that are inverted in the CSS. I'm wondering if that'll increase the likelihood of "ghosting". I don't remember having much issue with ghosting since the early Sony days, but that's a LOT of black being used on the screen.

Ditto from me, perfect so far, only had time to charge, settings, update and read a chapter.

Will read a book when I come back later tonight. Very impressive progress if you guys remember the blotchy PW1.
