Hi guys got my device today . First impression was -what a load of crap(hadn't seen real e reader before in my life,only tablets )But after I got used to how e -readers work .I feel in love with it .It has fantastic crisp clear display ,and magazines especially wildlife ones look amazing ,even better then in real life .PDF reading experience is great ,loading takes few seconds ,but after that it goes very smooth .I thought thing that you cant use finger on it will be bad thing ,but because of my palsy I am happy it don`t ,because I am more accurate with stylus than with my finger .Yes there are minor issues like it could be faster ,or more responsive in certain cases .But these issues arent serious at all ,and you get used to them after fifteen or twenty minutes of using this device . It`s great reader ,for someone with health issues ,but it needs to cost 400-500 euros .Because reading in some cases can be only joy in life ,and it should available to all

you wrote a very touching review. You're right big e-readers have different functionality and purpose than tablets, and although not that fast or colourful they are wonderful instruments for reading books, pdfs and magazines. Also, the price issue is real, but because there is a limited market for 13.3 inch e-readers only relatively few are produced. Thus the price tag stays high, accordingly.

I'm happy to see you like your Max Carta and wish you enjoy this wonderful device for many years to come. One day colour e-readers should become the norm, at least this is my hope.

I have question how do you install app`s without goggle play on it ?I dont have wi -fi in house just cable internet

It is an Android device so you can easily download .apk files, which are android application packages, and transfer them with the usb cable to your Boox Max, then you can install them by just opening the apk files and pressing on "Install"

I think Chrome browser has a plugin that lets you download apks. Others might also have recommendations on which non-official stores could be trusted for obtaining apks. Finally, I have heard of a java program called Raccoon that lets you download from the Google store, but I'm not sure if it works for paid apps.

If you don't mind my asking, how is glass a health issue? I'm happy that it's plastic myself, but for me it's not a health issue.

He meant he has health issues that compromise motor skills, a massive Eink screen with glass substrate would be more prone to damage from even the slightest mishandling.

Has anyone experienced problems with the digitizer?
With Notes and other applications I have a space of 1 cm (between center and top) where if I try to write a horizontal line the line appears either above or below the point where I pointed the pen ... with the vertical lines no problem . I have calibrated several times and always have the same problem. Any suggestions?

Thank you Markeris, I think it could be an hardware issue...
I tried with Squid another handwriting app and nothing has changed...the same as in Note.

I found Instapaper a great app to install on Max!
