Seanan McGuire's Every Heart a Doorway is available for pre-order at Amazon US, for $2.99. Releases on April 5th.

I believe this is the first in another new series for her (does the woman sleep?):
now $10 at amazon. still $3 at Kobo and ebooks.com (but pre-orders there don't work well).

Synopsis

Rescued from Earth’s destruction, one woman is called upon to revive mankind

Lilith Iyapo has just lost her husband and son when atomic fire consumes Earth—the last stage of the planet’s final war. Hundreds of years later Lilith awakes, deep in the hold of a massive alien spacecraft piloted by the Oankali—who arrived just in time to save humanity from extinction. They have kept Lilith and other survivors asleep for centuries, as they learned whatever they could about Earth. Now it is time for Lilith to lead them back to her home world, but life among the Oankali on the newly resettled planet will be nothing like it was before.

The Oankali survive by genetically merging with primitive civilizations—whether their new hosts like it or not. For the first time since the nuclear holocaust, Earth will be inhabited. Grass will grow, animals will run, and people will learn to survive the planet’s untamed wilderness. But their children will not be human. Not exactly.

This ebook features an illustrated biography of Octavia E. Butler including rare images from the author’s estate.

"A Bad Day for Vermin", by Keith Laumer (epub/Kindle/pdf) - this week's freebie from Wildside Press is a short story

Product Description:
Quote:
“A Bad Day for Vermin” tells the story of what happens when friendly aliens make the mistake of landing in the American West. Not your typical “first contact” story!

X-link to the DRM-free megathread for some new bundles:

StoryBundle is offering The Women in Fantasy Bundle curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch, and featuring a mix of new and backlist fantasy in various subgenres by established women authors, including Judith Tarr, P. N. Elrod, Laura Anne Gilman and more.

And there's a (mostly) non-fiction Humble Bundle for DIY 3D printing and drone-making, for the more technically inclined Gentle Readers who want to live the future now. It's also got a kids' storybook about 3D printing, and a speculative fiction short story collection about robots at the lowest tier.

Anniversary Day: A Retrieval Artist Novel by Kristine Kathryn Rusch (Book 1 in the Anniversary Day Saga which is also book 8 of the larger Retrieval Artist series) is currently 99c. Offer seems available in multiple countries (I see it for 99c in Germany as well as the US).

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006FCFJJY
http://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/ebo...l-artist-novel

Previously an earlier book in the series was on sale for 99c and there was some discussion as to whether you should start with book 1 of the Retrieval Artist series (I would recommend this but also buy this book while its on sale) and a number of us highly recommended her series.
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...55#post3190855

Synopsis
Four years ago, a bomb destroyed part of the dome protecting Armstrong, the largest city on the Moon. Now, as the city celebrates its survival with an event it calls Anniversary Day, a larger threat looms—one that begins with the murder of the mayor, and spreads across the Moon itself.

Even with every new technological device at her disposal, Moon Security Chief Noelle DeRicci can’t stay ahead of the unfolding disaster. As the situation gets worse, Retrieval Artist Miles Flint hurries to his daughter’s school to protect her. And Detective Bartholomew Nyquist finds himself in the middle of everything, from that first bombing to the Anniversary Day crisis itself.

A thriller with several mysteries at its core, Anniversary Day launches the Anniversary Day Saga, which will expand the Retrieval Artist Universe and change it forever.

Reclamation by Sarah Zettel is one of Open Roads daily deals for $1.99 in the US

http://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/ebook/reclamation-2
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CLVB9OC

Winner of the Locus Award for Best First Novel: With mankind spread thinly across the galaxy, two refugees must find humanity’s home

Eric Born knows his way around the universe. He’s a quick-thinking merchant blessed with natural telekinetic skill. He’s also that rarest of creatures, a human being. Humans have been scattered across the universe, powerless and oppressed, dispersed so widely that no one knows what planet they first came from. Eric survives by selling his talents to the mysterious galactic tyrants known as the Rhudolant Vitae, but has never forgotten he belongs to the human race, and the distant world, the Realm of the Nameless Powers. The Realm may be a backwater, but Eric will do anything to protect his home from the merciless and powerful Vitae.

With the help of fellow refugee Arla Rengate, Eric embarks on a journey across the stars. To save the Realm, he will have to cross the Vitae, and discover a secret that holds the key to the origins of mankind.

Haven't read any of these, but five of the six books in Bob Mayer's Atlantis series are currently free at Amazon UK. All originally published by Berkley between 1999 and 2004.

Bob Mayer at isfdb.org

1 - Atlantis
2 - Bermuda Triangle
3 - Devil's Sea
(4 - Atlantis Gate)
5 - Assault on Atlantis
6 - Battle for Atlantis

Product Information for Atlantis -

Quote:
A war beyond time. An enemy beyond space. A thriller beyond your wildest dreams. Three areas on the Earth’s surface defy explanation: the Bermuda Triangle, the Devil’s Sea of Japan, and a small region of Cambodia. Inside these realms, planes have disappeared, ships have vanished, and, in Cambodia, an entire civilization has been lost leaving behind Angkor Wat.

In 1945, Training Flight 19 disappears in the Bermuda Triangle.

In 1963, the USS Thresher, a nuclear submarine, is lost under unusual circumstances, part of a secret government investigation into mysterious gates.

Near the end of of the Vietnam War, Green Beret Eric Dane led a team of operatives deep into Cambodia and encountered a strange fog near the legendary city of Angkor Kol Ker. His entire team disappears, attacked by strange creatures out of the fog. Only Dane survives to return.

Now a plane goes down. In the same area Dane lost his team. He’s called back. To find out who is the darkness behind these gates to our planet. What does this Shadow force want? It is a threat that will take on the world’s greatest military forces and defeat them. A power that will overwhelm our science and technology. A merciless enemy that will lead Dane—and the whole planet—into the final desperate battle for survival

Has anyone read the Atlantis series by Bob Mayer? I'd like to know if they're worth adding to by TBR pile.

To be clear, you can also download the collection with the story from any Baen CD mirror site. None AFAIK require registration.

The collection is The Lighter Side by Keith Laumer on some sites you may have to download and burn or attach the complete CD
