T68 from booxtor

After installing the latest update available of the T68 (07/02/2014) and the CoolReader apk from booxtor, a strange thing is happenig with the forward and backward buttons, when I click the backward physical button the page goes forward and when I click the forward the page goes backward. It only happens whith coolreader, is that a known bug or it is only happening to me?
Thanks!

I managed to download an install an update today, not sure what exactly the changes are. Unfortunately, the scribbling bug (not all strokes being recorded by the screen) is still there in the Neo reader.

On my T68 touch screen behaviour is very buggy, as already noted by many users, even after the latest updates.
At this point I begin to suspect it's an hardware issue. Am I correct or do you plan any update in the near future?
It's one of the bugs (the other is the bootloop when battery below 50%) which are make me thinking returning the T68.
It would be a pity since otherwise the reader is great, but I simply can't live with such little touch screen precision.
For example, using Multitouch Visualizer, you can see not only that the screen registers you touch far below the real point, but also that, keeping the finger down, the registered point moves continuosly like crazy around the finger.
In real usage this means that text selections become undoable, keyboard typing is a nightmare and so on..

Thank you

Roberto

Which version of the T68 do you have? The touchscreen seems fine on my Lynx with the latest update.

I agree 100% with Roberto, the touchscreen precision is very poor and makes nearly impossible to select words e.g. to look for them in a dictionary.. moreover close to the bottom of the screen it apparently doesn't work at all.
I have the "Booxtor" T68 version..

regards

Did anyone try the T68 update of the 26th July available here?
https://onyx-boox.com/support/firmware-android/

They don't say what it fixes (I hope for the battery-reboot-loop problem)

Thanks!

I tried it, it's an erroneous description, actually it's the 26 JUNE update the Lynx received OTA. I know for sure since i backed up the OTA update file after downloading and it's byte to byte equal to that available at the link you provided.

+1. I can confirm this. And it was already on the site before the 25th.

Dear Booxtor,
Can you please inform us when the new batch of M96 and/or T68
with latest firmware version is/will be available,
and possibly with a list of compatible pen(s)/styluses.

after upgrading I noticed that if I increase the font size with Neo reader, when I close and reopen the book, it goes always back to the first page... this is really an issue...

T68 Bug Fix Requests

Hello Booxtor, thanks for helping resolve the bugs with the excellent T68. I have a small number of fix requests in the 7/2 build:
  • WiFi Shut Down: WiFi automatically shuts down when the tablet enters sleep mode and at random. This isn't fixable using a WiFi management app, unfortunately. I tried setting WiFi to "always on" in settings, but regardless of the setting, it stays off. Purple Lady also experienced this problem.
  • Frequency Scaling Issue: I noticed that the frequency doesn't properly scale. According to information on the kernel, the following frequencies are available: 1GHz, 792 MHz, 396 MHz and Deep Sleep. 1GHz and Deep Sleep work, but the other frequencies aren't available. While this makes the tablet snappier, battery life would increase if the other two frequencies were enabled. I'm not sure what kind of governor is used (like performance or userspace). Although right now it's very fast.
  • A2 mode: Is there any way to increase the refresh rate? The Rooted Nook Simple Touch had very fast refresh rates, whereas the A2 mode in the T68 seems slower and it only displays two colors (black and white).
  • Root mode: Is there a way to root the Boox T68? I can't find one online.

Thanks for making such a unique product even better. With the 7/2 update, the T68 is easily the best e-ink reader on the market.
