It's not a movie. It's a TV series streamed on Hulu.

I enjoyed 'Time and Again' & 'From Time to Time' by Jack Finney,
who wrote 'The Invasion of the Body Snatchers'. Good time travel
stories that make you think about the way it is done, in the tales!

There something nicely "meta" about a time travel thread resurrected in the future....

I really liked 11/22/63, and I'm curious to check out the new mini-series, but the actual "time travel details" in the book were pretty weak, I think. As frahse mentioned, it's often hard for those sort of details to hold up, unless you just lampshade all the problems, like in "Back To The Future," or "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure."

Anyone read "Time Scout" by Robert Aspirin? I really enjoyed it, but the sequels were somewhat disappointing.

Almost all time-travel story science falls apart (or paradoxically eats its own tail) if you look at it too closely (or from too many vantage points). It's the nature of the beast in my opinion. Those who strive to make their time-travel science "more plausible" usually do so at the expense of their own story. That's why I usually prefer the time-travel stories where the author doesn't waste a lot of time trying to sell me on their "science."

I thought that the Back to the Future movies didn't do to bad in exploring the way that the future can influence the past. Character grows up knowing about event x happening, then goes back in time and finds himself causing event x to happen at a point decades before he was even born. lol.

Oh, and staying on movies for the moment, I recently re-watched "Frequency."
Great movie. Probably the best Time Travel/Police Thriller/Family Drama combination I've ever seen. The "science" of the film was handled entirely by a background TV interview of Dr. Brian Greene talking to (IIRC) Dick Cavett about his work in string theory and the nature of spacetime, and being asked if the Aurora Borealis (which is the movie's visual centerpiece representing the time travel effect) had any connection to his work. His answer was basically: "No, not at all. But hey, we're always learning something new."

For King and Country by Robert Aspirn.
Quote:
FROM THE HEART OF BELFAST
COMES A TERRORIST THREAT
THAT SPELLS DOOM FOR BRITAIN'S
ONCE AND FUTURE KING . . .
AND THE REST OF US AS WELL

What SAS Captain Trevor Stirling doesn't know may kill him—along with every man, woman, and child alive. Stirling thinks his mission is simple: follow a terrorist into the year AD 500 to stop a Northern Irish fanatic bent on murder. If the terrorist succeeds in killing Artorius, the Briton Lord of Battle and the most revered icon of British history, before his greatest military victory, the time-space continuum will fracture, destroying the British nation. And, coincidentally, the rest of the world.

In a tale where no one is ever quite who or what they seem, hidden enemies and unexpected allies play out a drama of 21st-century terrorism against the backdrop of Arthurian Britain at its darkest hour. One man, alone in time, struggling to save an entire universe from extinction, must choose between duty to his mission and the growing conviction that he should forsake everything he holds dear to follow a higher duty—to risk it All,

A very good book, which I read recently. I would note, though, that it's primarily a historical novel; the time-travel aspect of it is fairly limited. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Tim Powers _The Anubis Gates_ is a great read. The time-travel is very cleverly done.

Same here. I didn't look, but I just assumed it was already mentioned earlier in this thread somewhere.

Also ... time travel plays an important role in portions of Ian Tregillis's alt-history trilogy the Milkweed Triptych. I highly recommend it to fans of either.
