Every team I root for loses. I'm starting to take this personally.

The good thing is that the cup will go to a team that has never won it before (I think).

So is anyone going to pay me to support the opposite side? It has worked so far!

It would probably be cheaper to bribe the octopus. I believe that its not actually psychic, it is somehow influencing the outcome of games.

Yes it is very possible the Germans were convinced they would lose even before the game started... I blame the octopus too!

I lost six times in a row so I feel in the same predicament.

I know, I'll root for the World Cup itself!

I predict that the World Cup will win the best team!...

What's with the world cups and animals? In 1966 the star was a dog, in 2010 an octopus. Is the octopus the actual winner, I wonder? He got to eat an awful lot of mussels...

Yes, I believe Brazil got to keep the original trophy.

Added: just checking Wikipedia and it says
"The Brazilian team won the tournament for the third time in 1970, allowing them to keep the real trophy in perpetuity, as had been stipulated by Jules Rimet in 1930. It was put on display at the Brazilian Football Confederation headquarters in Rio de Janeiro in a cabinet with a front of bullet-proof glass.

So, put something in a casing, with a bullet proof glass front but a wooden back????
