Just got the call from the hospital, I'm scheduled for august second. They can't say yet if I'll be under anesthesia or heavy sedation. Anesthesia affects my memory and reflexes in a bad way. I'd rather not have it if possible...

We are under winds and flooding from the spiral arms on Alex. One of my coworkers said he drove down highway 90 in Gulfport around lunch time and saw hundreds of BP temp hires down on the beach looking for tar balls, etc.

But I got myself a nice mp3 player: a Sansa Clip + for my birthday.

There's a lot of talk this morning at the office about the "heat wave plan" the company put into effect. People who are not working in air conditioned offices can leave early. We do have A/C in my building, but I'm not complaining, it's nice after getting steam cooked on the train.

Of course, now I've got a cold because of the A/C
