Downloading of newspaper to Kindle DX

[QUOTE=Hadrien;198180]Feedbooks provide an easy way for Kindle users to download and read RSS feeds directly on their device:
__________________________________________________ ________________
I am considering to get the Kindle DX, mainly to read newspaper.

What are the ways to download a newspaper to the Kindle DX, if they are not offered at the Kindle store ?

If I understand, I can download the newspaper, if I have a subscription, to my Mac PC and than I transfer by USB the newspaper as other files to the Kindle DX. Is this correct? Are there ways to download directly to the Kindle DX?

Thans for any help.

You can use Feedbooks as was mentioned above. You can use calibre, it will download news from A LOT of places and format it for your kindle. I think you can even have it automatically email the news to your Kindle... if it is worth paying the personal document fees to amazon.

Thank you for your information about Feedbooks. I am living in Europe and I don`t know anything about Feedbooks. Is there a description how it works? I want to read various European newspaper and periodicals and RSS (mainly German and Italian) with the Kindle DX if I buy one. I have not found any of them at the Feedbooks site. If I can understand what Feedbooks (and things like calibre) is exactly doing and how it works than I can make further decisions.https://www.mobileread.com/forums/ima...sadd1/help.gif

I suggest you go to Feedbooks.com and read their help documentation. That is the best place to get info about it.

I was interested only to download newspaper to a Kindle DX without becoming a Chinese interpreter for Russian people.

Feedbooks.com was Chinese literature for me.

Thanks anyway.

I don't understand what that means? Are you saying you didn't understand the directions? If so, I'm not sure I could do any better to explain how it works.

Sorry.

I found <feedbooks.com> but I was not able to undetstand what to do. I am not an expert, just a reader of text.
Please understand I would like just download every day or every week or every month certain newspaper or periodicals from the internet from editors where I have paid subscriptions.
Actually I go with my MacBook to the URL of the newspaper, signing in and than I download the newspaper as PDF files to my MacBook. As I can`t read outdoor with sunlight well the newspaper because of the issues with LCD displays and the battery life time I would prefer to read the newspaper on an e.reader like the Kindle DX.
The question is: What are the steps to download (if possible regulary) the newspaper to a e-reader like the Kindle DX ? You wrote about Feedbooks and I was asking if Feedbooks is able to do what I want to do.

Yes, it will do what you want. Well, it will d/l the news, but you have to initiate it from your kindle.

Go here. These directions tell you how to do that:

http://www.feedbooks.com/help/kindle#rss

I think if you want it a bit more automated then you will want to look at calibre.

Thank you for answer.
May you could help me most if you could describe for one newspaper the steps to create automted downloading?

E.g. for the German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung:
URL:
http://www.sueddeutsche.de/app/epsta...ion=epaper_abo
Login at this URL with:
Username: xxxxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxxxx
After login I can select if I want the complete newspaper or selectable articles.
The newspaper arrives daily without sunday.

It woud help me a lot to understand Feedbooks.

Shared Google Reader Feed on Feedbooks

Does anyone know how to get a shared google reader feed in Feedbooks? When I add the feed in it says "Cannot open or parse this URL." I'd like to be able to read a shared google reader feed on my Kindle. Maybe there is a better way to do that outside of Feedbooks, share that too if you know.

Thanks

I just have a kindle DX in China. I want to create a newspaper in the feedbooks site. However, when i push the 'Add a RSS feed' , after inputing the right feed, pressing OK, it always failed.
showing "Sorry, but your request couldn't be processed. "
seems "500 errors"

I like Calibre. I have it set up on my netbook. When I get up in the morning all I tell it to fetch news, go make my coffee, and when I come back its ready. I plug the kindle in and it sideloads automatically.

After initial setup, its a no sweat process.
