Coffee, boiled eggs and soldiers (yes I still call them that) and a lovely sunny day. As threesomes go, it's not a quarter bad.

Let's focus on the silly things that matter. Always good to try and remember. Thanks, Marc.

have you tried giving him fish oil and/or a little olive oil on his food?

He gets the oil from tuna cans along with a bit of tuna on a semi-regular basis. Outside of cheese, tuna is his favorite food. I believe it's the frequent pool dips that are causing his itching. That and the fact that it's been a terrible season for fleas. I put some Frontline on his collar and harness where it won't wash off so easily, but even before we started going in the pool this year he was having problems with fleas. Next month I'm switching to Advantage to see if that works better. In the meantime, I have a flea shampoo that I bought from the vet. The baby oil really seems to help the dryness, though. I've also started spraying him down with the hose after swimming to remove any chlorine residue.

try the fish oil tablets. seriously. the same ones you are buying for yourself at Costco. give him one a day. it's great for their coats and joints! olive oil never hurts! if you are getting fleas in the house try sweeping 20 Mule Team Borax into the rug. when I've had flea issues around here, I've purchased a nemotode that consumes the flea larva. you put it around your yard. pretty effective!

Sounds like you need a hug you poor thing. I almost feel admonished for starting this, but I wanted to be able to write down some things that were good even if they were boring and ordinary. Because I myself tend to focus on what is wrong rather than what is good.

So today...

1. I had a lovely warm sleep-in in crisp clean sheets on a cool morning. bliss.......
2. Got some good news about a party date change now bloke CAN go. yippee!
3. We are going out to have a grown up dinner with friends tonight.

1. We'll finally leave South Africa today (I hope)
2. It's another beautiful day (except that I'm inside, at work)
3. The cats didn't wake me this morning! (but those crows and doves did...)

Garlic. Put garlic in his food. Our dogs often had problems with fleas. My mother put some mashed (fresh) garlic in their food and problems solved. The fleas don't like the smell that comes from the skin...

Which reminds me, I need to get some more Frontline...

That's always good news. Well, almost always. I hate phones and hate talking on them. Elisha Gray and Alexander Graham Bell didn't realize it, but they invented telemarketers.

Yesterday's good things because it is too early for today..

1. My new mobile phone came , and its looks like I can drive it. (at least this one has buttons. bluddy touch phones!)

2. I stocked up on alcohol. So the wine rack is overflowing. Always comforting!

3. I had my first eye test since laser surgery and I am still OK to drive. Although I have a bit of regression in my left eye, but the good thing is that eye is helping me to read.
