I could almost guarantee the reason they're not selling out of the states is because their ebook store has nothing you can buy, legally, outside of the United States. And without said store I sincerely doubt they'd give a stuff about these devices. I find this a little short sighted... but. [shrug]

I've also seen this forwarder recommended a fair bit: https://www.borderlinx.com/m/ never used it myself, though.

Do you happen to know the actual shipping weight/dimensions of the nook's package? B&N.com is quite unhelpful, only stating the dimensions of the reader itself. I need to know the packaged weight so I can calculate how much I'll have to pay for shipping. I've seen conflicting information, with someone claiming 1.6 kg (3.5 lbs) and someone else claiming 2.1 lbs.

Yes I use alwaysvpn and I have an Australian Credit Card, but I used a US billing address (they don't check and they don't send anything to that address..so pick an address :-) ) if you use US unlocked they even say use their address for billing information. They also offer a prepaid credit card service.

as for the weight ask US unlocked they have sent many nooks around the world and they even promote that fact.

I am sure that there are many other companies that offer this service. I know a few people here used this one.. (look back on this forum )

You're right, USUnlocked have a whole blog entry on how to order a Nook online.

If anyone's interested in the weight, this is what they have to say:

I don't follow this stuff too closely, so I was wondering if there's any rumors that the Nook will be sold to directly to Canada any time soon? Though Best Buy or Kobo, since B&N will eventually sell the Kobo.

Someone on one of the other websites I habit got a quote from PriceUSA to send a Nook to Australia for AUD$245.54. Disappointing that it would cost roughly AUD$60 more to get it than first thought (ie. ordering it directly from B&N would've cost roughly AUD$163).

Now this is getting really weird! I just got a new e-mail from B&N and they say that they have shipped Nook for me today but now with free delivery.
This is good stuff if it's real but I really want to know did they canceled my order or not because I want be sure before buying any other device.

If the nook orders don't get through, and you're looking for a forwarder service, I recommend Borderlinx, as mentioned above. I used it to ship my nook over to Singapore.

It costs around roughly SGD$20. Also, Borderlinx tells me that their shipped weight of the B&N nook is 1.00 kg.

Well, I did stress my friends in the US in November/December a lot with the 1st nook for me. And that went on, for mine had a cracked bezel after 3 months and needed to be returned, send in, received again, registered a second time, packed again and send back to me. Enough trouble to stress a deep friendship.

This time I wanted one for someone else. And I wanted to buy it as a customer, not a ghost. I'm ghost again - "unlocked".

So much about a "free market" :-(

Same thing happened to me. Said shipped on the 23rd. Was silent on the 24th. Then got an email on the 25th saying that shipping restrictions don't allow them to ship overseas. All orders have been cancelled with sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused.
But my account in Barnes and Noble, still shows that it has been shipped with a tracking no. and all.
No updated news on the account though.
Well.. it has been cancelled. My credit card has not been charged.
So I have hopped on to priceusa.com.au

The whole thing seems like a glitch. Especially when the Kindle does ship internationally. Anyway my email says that all overseas orders have been cancelled. Hope you get your nook though.
