Err, woops. Found it. I'm stupid. Packed the wrong file in the zip. Will fix ASAP. ^^ |

Here's my file list after copying the Helvetica2 fonts onto the Kindle, done on a Win7 machine, no hiding of extensions:

Okay, my bad, it was entirely my fault, no Windows to blame . [I put the wrong (meaning: default) files in the zipfile. Meaning we weren't asking the Kindle software to use the custom fonts, so, of course it didn't work for anyone but me -_-"] If you've installed the _FONTS_ hack from the first post before now (06/23/10 03:33 UTC), unpack the two files in the zip file attached here to the linkfonts/bin folder on your Kindle, overwriting the two existing files. And then restart your kindle, it should work a whole lot better after that ^^. I fixed the zipfile in the first post. Last edited by NiLuJe; 06-22-2010 at 11:40 PM. |

Did not get the fonts. Just the default fonts even after installation and a repeat restart. Something missing. Update - Got the Fonts hack fix - Working like a charm. Great. Thanks a lot NiLuJe. Last edited by arvsinha; 06-22-2010 at 11:42 PM. |

Phew! *wipes brow* Thanks for the initial 'impromptu' beta testers and their quick feedback, and sorry again, that was a very, very dumb mistake! I'm suddenly very glad to have left the default fonts with their default filenames there... It wouldn't have been pretty otherwise... >_<" @NogDog: Yes, I fixed the full zipfile in the first post as well. And double-checked it. And then triple-checked it! |

Would it be possible to provide the CModBold fonts? These are the ones I have been using from Tedsans site. Thank you for providing the updates for the fonts and the screensavers. I finally went ahead and installed version 2.5 of the firmware tonight. I have been holding off until a font hack was available and it is working great. I have my custom screensavers and now I have a way to easily change fonts. |
