Well - I lived in Pullman, WA for 3 years - on the Idaho border of WA - so very hot in the summer (> 100 F) but NO humidity. Never had an air conditioner even though electricity was dirt cheap (nuclear).
But the winters! We could & did get 3-4 feet of wet snow overnight - that either froze solid and stayed around forever or melted overnight due to a chinook wind and flooded everything! I vowed to move somewhere that I wouldn't need a snow shovel. Kind of forgot about the humidity! I still remember stepping off the plane at RDU airport into a wall of humidity!
This summer is making snow look good again! Or at least bearable!

The pool here is so hot that it hurts your sunburn. The ocean down here is pretty darned hot also. It is raining here at 11 PM, so hopefully it will cool the water in the pool.

When my wife got home, she told me that the local news reported that the temperature in Chesapeake reached 100 today. (About 38⁰C.)

And, oh yeah, the A/C went out. Fortunately I knew a guy and he came right over and fixed it. Good thing, too, because it's suppose to get even hotter tomorrow and Thursday.
