I've been enjoying some of the old Scott Adams & Infocom games on Frotz, but is there any way to add them other than one. file. at. a. time? Any idea if the developers are looking at normal iTunes file transfer support?

Nostalgic moment: I played my first IF game on my Radio Shack Color Computer (!) in 1981. When I completed it, the author's mailing address was displayed so I contacted him. And then I got a surprise call from him one day and we chatted about the game for a bit. That was bizarre...seriously interactive fiction! He was the one who first turned me on to Scott Adams' games.

Eventually I played (what I now know must have been Roger Schrag's ports of) Scott Adams' "Pirate Adventure" and "Adventureland" on the CoCo too, then later the Infocom series on the Apple ][+.

My understanding is that file transfer via "iTunes" is not available to 3rd party app developers, hence the commonly-used solution of file transfer via a web server (which works pretty well, I think).

Do you mean that web server file transfers are going to stop working in iOS4, or that iOS4 will permit app data file transfer via iTunes?

Data File Transfer via iTunes is coming to the iPhone in iOS4, similar to what is already available to 3rd parties on the iPad. They won't deprecate web server file transfers.

I'm still wondering what happened to the desktop folder sharing thing that was in some of the iPhone OS 3x betas though..that seemed like the best possible solution to file transfers...a central folder on your computer to drop files in and access on the iOS device.

Hi folks,

does anybody here know if Bureaucracy works under Frotz?

I still have the original package somewhere. It was for the Atari ST that I once owned ....

The Infocom Bureaucracy does work under Frotz. Infocom/Activision released it as a .DAT file and it can be loaded to the iPad.

Yes, Bureaucracy is just as infuriating under Frotz as the original. Works fine.
