Alan, thanks! That's high praise coming from a guy who is on the Smashwords Mount Rushmore...

Richard, I didn't see any "another think coming"s in there (although there are two "another thing coming"s). I haven't found any homophone or ensure/insure or "bear naked" type problems yet but I'm only halfway through. I'll keep my eyes peeled though -- I'm always trying to rid my work of any errors! Maybe my author's eye is dancing right past them without noticing. Thanks for the help...

I'm only Amateur Mister Language Person because I believe the correct expression is "another think coming" but google again informs me that this is highly contentious! (Ensure/Insure wasn't yours - more an indication of my own bias and fallability, and maybe a grump about how the already-nearly-incomprehensible English language is degrading further and further every year.)

Sorry for all the trouble! My point really was mostly what you said above about your author's eye - you know what the text says, so it's REALLY hard to read it for correctness because your brain "fixes" anything that's off. Likewise I cannot proof my own presentations anywhere near as effectively as I do others'. Not being an author myself, I can only assume that even the "big name" folks have someone proof and edit before the manuscript goes to a professional editor, but maybe they have the luxury of iterating with the pro a few times early on.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Richard, I'm solidly in the "Hear, hear" camp as well and I just changed it. The way it was written was just plain wrong.

I should have renamed the bartender in your honor. Well, maybe not the bartender, that isn't too flattering. Maybe I should have written in a cameo for a guy named Richard with "movie-star" looks...

After all the thriller/serial killer books I'm reading, this will be a good light-hearted fun break!
