Thanks Gents
Alan, thanks! That's high praise coming from a guy who is on the Smashwords Mount Rushmore...
Richard, I didn't see any "another think coming"s in there (although there are two "another thing coming"s). I haven't found any homophone or ensure/insure or "bear naked" type problems yet but I'm only halfway through. I'll keep my eyes peeled though -- I'm always trying to rid my work of any errors! Maybe my author's eye is dancing right past them without noticing. Thanks for the help... ...dave |

![]() I'm only Amateur Mister Language Person because I believe the correct expression is "another think coming" but google again informs me that this is highly contentious! One of the top few hits is http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/langu...es/004971.html which at least appears to have citations in support of that position ![]() (Ensure/Insure wasn't yours - more an indication of my own bias and fallability, and maybe a grump about how the already-nearly-incomprehensible English language is degrading further and further every year.) Sorry for all the trouble! My point really was mostly what you said above about your author's eye - you know what the text says, so it's REALLY hard to read it for correctness because your brain "fixes" anything that's off. Likewise I cannot proof my own presentations anywhere near as effectively as I do others'. Not being an author myself, I can only assume that even the "big name" folks have someone proof and edit before the manuscript goes to a professional editor, but maybe they have the luxury of iterating with the pro a few times early on. Anyway, keep up the good work! Richard |

A very pleasant review on KindleObsessed. Three out of five stars, which is all a beach read like this should ever get...

I should have renamed the bartender in your honor. Well, maybe not the bartender, that isn't too flattering. Maybe I should have written in a cameo for a guy named Richard with "movie-star" looks... edit: Thanks... |

Isn't "snodgrass" a pecker/weiner operation?

All my Books are Free at Barnes and Noble (Nook)
I can't find it in myself to argue with that proposition...

Snodgrass Vacation -- Free Until October 19
To mark the run-up to release of Wrecker I'm making Snodgrass Vacation free in all ebook formats (at Smashwords) for a couple of weeks.
100% off Coupon Code: MZ65B A fun spoof on Disney World and the people who love it. Dave and Vinnie just know Morrison is faking his injury and they have a week at Snodgrass World to save the restaurant by proving it. They'll have to dodge fleets of wheelchairs and scooters long enough to expose him while enjoying attractions like 'Brutal yet Fun and Lovable Buccaneers' and 'Showcase of Random Allied Countries.' |

Heading for Disney World? Or just got back and are sick over the prices, other people's obnoxious children or how horribly everybody behaves? Cool, because that's what Snodgrass Vacation is all about!
"Anyone who loves Walt Disney World like I do, should enjoy this book. I love the way the book parodies a Disney vacation." "I thought this book was a complete riot. I think part of that is due to the fact that I can identify with the plight through an amusement park, but my experience wasn't nearly as funny and riddled with on liners and funny characters." "Anyone who as done repeat vacations to the Big Mouse in Fl should get one heck of kick out of the novel. Dave Conifer gave voice to many of my unspoken thoughts while watching people cut lines, use strollers as weapons, gave a name to 'wormers' and 'scouts'." http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Sno...I=dave+conifer http://www.amazon.com/Snodgrass-Vaca...pd_rhf_p_img_2 |

Jhempel, sorry you missed out on the free coupon.
This book should be interesting to anybody who's been to Disney World. I love the place but it was just begging to be parodied... |
