Of course.
I drop subtle hints as to what I want, which at times is like trying to teach physics to a gibbon with learning disabilities ( Which should explain the pepper surplus). She buys and tends the plants and I get fresh vegetables.

My brother in law does, but he's fighting a losing battle with my sister and their two kids. My sister thinks CoolWhip is a dairy product and the kids are spoiled rotten sugar junkies who live on microwave mac and cheese. I do grow my own stuff though. This year, besides my strawberry, I have basil, mint and zucchini.

The basil and zucchini are. Sauteed with onions. Zucchini bread. And so much more! The mint is just there because I love the smell of fresh mint.

zuchini, but me fears the air miles would not wear well on either zucchini or strawberries...seems i'll have to struggle on and eat them all on my lonesome ....

Well, actually, I could if I wanted to spend a small (or not so small) fortune.. These are recent imports. 15 years ago we couldn't get anything like this so I learned to make my own. We still can't get good Italian sausage or Chorizo, but fortunately both are very easy to make at home. Brats are even easier.
