Here's an idea-- if your roof starts leaking, sue the government for property damage. It is their rain, after all.

Funny season. Lawns are very vivacious these days, it looks about 3 weeks late from my memory. I have a nice claerodendron trichotomum made of two original plants twisted together that makes very good shadow in summer and does not take any light away in winter. The problem is the enormous number of sprouts it generates, even 30 feet away from it. Every summer it was a pain to eradicate them. I even used pliers.
To night a full cohort of them came out, already with 3 or 4 leaves. Djerba, the little robot just shaved them away. yupppeee! |

For the past few days I've had some watermelon rinds placed near my pitcher plants to attract extra flies (both fruit and house.) The tactic has seemed to be helpful, allowing a few more catches than might have happened in the same period without the watermelon. Yesterday, I decided on a little experiment with one of them-- I squeezed a little juice from one of the rinds onto the hood of a pitcher and and into the water inside. Then it rained last night-- I looked today to see if the 2-3 flies that were already in there (plus some termites that I had hand-fed it) had been washed out. And found this (linked for shock value.)

Yes - but what about the cute little gray jumping spider? Still there? Still adorable?
P.S. I wouldn't talk about "hand feeding plants" outside this forum - might get you a night in a padded cell! |

As long as you don't name your plants, I guess you'll be allowed to roam free.

You named your wok?
![]() I have trouble enough remembering the names of people around me, I'm not about to name my tomato plants. Besides, I'm going to eat them. Hopefully. |
