Novel uses for iPad?
Are you using your iPad for anything novel that others might find helpful?
One thing I've been doing, because I like to travel: I've been doing screen captures of maps of airport terminals, subway systems and freeways in major cities. That way, I will have quick reference even if I can't get a 3G or wi-fi signal for some reason. |

ehm...
I use evernote for all kind of notes useful for my upcoming trip. I use ipad's splendid vpn-connectionmanagement and a issh (ssh+vnc) to manage my servers. I use OffMaps to download maps of the countries I'll be visiting. Since this is an universal app, i use the ipad for reference, but on the road i'll be using my iphone. I use goodreader+dropbox for my itenary. Of course, the hotel and tourist spots are already bookmarked in Offmaps, so I only need to follow the blue dot. I use ReadItLater to get the last few articles and notes I'd need to read. I'll sync it up while the iPad still has connection. |

I don't know how "unusual" but I do a few things that probably not too many do...
Use the Korg ielectribe app to make music loops, and then import them into my desktop workstation Use Universalis (Catholic) for devotion/prayer And though not all that unusual I have to add to athlonkmf's word about dropbox. I absolutely am nuts about Goodreader for viewing and Documents to Go for editing MS Office docs. Both of those coupled with Dropbox is just a wonderful thing ![]() |

It makes a handy tray for carrying 2 or 3 cups of coffee.

I once swatted a fly with mine. Didn't kill it outright but it stunned it enough so I could finish it off with my foot.

Tried as a cheese tray, but it's a pain getting the smears off.

Use it as a BT keyboard for one's iPhone.

I just posted a detailed article at Teleread on using it in teaching. I especially like the lyrics feature in iTunes. I can store all of the lyrics to my teaching songs right within the song.

I'm using a combination of Corkulous, Notebooks, and Task Pro to coordinate two remodeling projects, a revamp of my wireless network (loads of research needed) and a craft ideas file.
And I use my iPad to shoot birds at grinning pigs wearing helmets. Gotta be the weirdest thing I've ever seen. ![]() |
