There's only one song that fits the Sunday morning that follows a Saturday night.

Tom Waits - The Piano Has Been Drinking

They had me until St. Anger. I don't know if it's my imagination or the fact that my ears are starting to get older, but Hetfield's voice doesn't sound the same on their newer stuff. Yet I've seen recent video of them performing their older songs and his voice sounds like it always has. Very odd ...

And I'll offer up some '80s British synth-pop:

Yes very distinctive, Carl Sagan's Cosmos; a great series! This is elevating and sublime music.

Currently I am listening to Carl Orff's O Fortuna

I gave up on Metallica when they killed Napster. Besides, Mustaine and Megadeth were always a better band, and if you want metal, nobody beats Iron Maiden (dude, Iron Maiden! *air guitar*)

Metallica almost fill me with as much rage as the HIV Denying Foo Fighters. Raaaaaaaggggeeee!!

I'm surprised Metallica had money left to spend after all of their group therapy sessions. Of course, the proceeds from the documentary probably more than covered the bill ...

I have to admit I'm a little surprised to hear that about the Foo Fighters -- I didn't know HIV could be denied at this point. Now I don't feel quite so guilty about not being a fan of their music.

I was a BIG fan of the Foo's and then I heard about the whole HIV denying thing (they even did a gig in support of some wishy-washy denying crap). Now I wouldn't listen to them if I was being paid.
