Thanks for checking. The clickable TOC seems to work for the Kindle/mobi version just fine. It might be that the Smashwords "meat grinder" conversion software doesn't do TOCs right in EPUB yet. Not much I can do, I suppose.

TOCs are a PITA on Smashwords. Create a bookmark on each chapter heading, manually insert a cross-reference to each bookmark to create the ToC. Then it works.

Odd, that's exactly what I did. It works with mobi, at least.

Thanks for all the reviews, y'all. The latest one makes 23. It's really what I live for. Cash is meaningless. Reviews open my eyes to my flaws and improve my writing.

You might notice that some kinds of comments that commonly appeared in early reviews (typos, emotional flatness) stopped appearing after a while. There's a reason for that. Xenolith has evolved since its release.

My next book Lethe, won't be quite as rough when its released in July, thanks to the help of MobileReads Beta readers, but I suspect it won't be so popular. It is much weirder than Xenolith and is written in first person, present tense which drives some people away screaming. But it wanted to exist in that form so I had to let it.

Xenolith's sequel is coming together slowly and ready for Beta by September. Thanks again, all 2,120 of you who have downloaded Xenolith. It makes for a much nicer feeling than shoving a manuscript box to gather dust on a shelf.

31 chapters of Peregrin complete. 29 more to go. I'm revising at a rate of one per day, but that will be interrupted when I travel to Ghana next Saturday. But I expect to have a major chunk completed when I return in July.

4 more days before I go to Ghana. I hope to plow through lots of revision on the plane and hotel rooms, while also setting up the framework of two new novels. Long distance travel is great for getting lots of writing done (for me anyway).

Still in Ghana (and Xenolith is still free). Ghana is such a frustrating and fascinating place to work. Much better developed than many of the places I go in Africa.

Lots of cancelled appointments, altered plans, clusterf***s, etc. But I still managed to go from one end of the country to the other (from the coast to the northern border with Burkina Faso) and get at least some of what I wanted to accomplish done.

I also did quite a did of writing. I revised a few more chapters of Xenolith. Discovered and fixed many odd bits of clunky writing in my (officially) un-released novel: Lethe, and I also wrote more than 10,000 words of a new novel (a thriller) that just popped into my head. Working title: Xtraktiv. It's about an NGO worker targetted by a high-tech corporate assassin aiming to subsume the NGO guy's identity, who accidentally kills the assassin, whose employer then assumes that the NGO guy is the assassin. NGO guy (Archie Parsons) then hops around Africa trying to bollocks up the assasin's itinerary while the girl (Melissa) who watches his cat back home flies to Africa without his permission to help him out of his jam. I'll probably tuck this one away when I get back to focus on the others.
