No, I think that is for bad situation verified with my DR1000.
As I wrote in my message there is an opened case with new firmware.
Yesterday the support wrote to downgrade to FW 1.7, but I can't, the reader didn't read at all from SD and so I could do nothing.
I think that it's possible dangerous to install new firmware, and I'm waiting a solution by iRex support.
Sorry for my bad English writing (I'm Italian), I hope that you can understand.

This 2.0 RC1 seemed to have bricked my DR, it installed and when it was about to restart into the new firmware. Nothing. Screen is all blank and only the power (orange) up led and bottom middle led are lit. Tried all kind of resets as well. I tried also to use a new SD card and original IREX SD card formatted. Nothing. DR1000 is completely blocked.
I tried all possible downgrade to beta 0401, 0408 and to firmware 1.7.1, nothing, always a blank screen and the power (orande) up led and bottom middle led are lit.
I opened a case at iRex American support.
By the way, for now, I think that it's better to not use new release of firm

Either they've fixed scribbling so that it's so much more accurate and even faster or I've finally managed to calibrate the stylus myself after 1.5 years ;-) Good job.

Same effect here with the RC2 firmware. Tried to upgrade. I now only get an orange status LED immediately on power up. Reverted the SD card back to the 1.7.1 firmware, nothing. It seems to really have bricked my 1000. The symptoms are exactly as described above.
