This one looks really interesting. I will have to put it on my TBR list. Thanks for sharing.

I'm very excited, I picked up Murder in Mesopotamia by Agatha Christie at the library, and got two Margaret Atwood books at a yard sale.

The Blind Assassin and Cat's Eye. Both are on the 1001 list, and I've been wanting to read one of her books for a while, so I grabbed both.

I've been on cheapo-mode lately and have gotten most of my books used at book sales and such.

Finished Man in the High Castle by Philip K Dick this morning, it was amazing book. Definitely my favorite of his that I've read so far and shows how to do an alternative history story the right way.

Now, unless an e-library hold comes up, it's off to the 39 steps so I can participate in the discussion here!

Just curious, how do you know it is one of their books? *edit* nevermind.

I just started "Murder in Mesopotamia" by Agatha Christie.

Don, do you really believe that was spam? It sounded legit to me, and this is the What are you Reading thread.

EDIT: "you are recommending one of your own books without mentioning the fact that you are the author."

Yeah, uh, never mind! Somehow I missed that part. Sorry about that!

Good catch!

I've just started our own MR author Helen Smith's "Alison Wonderland" - so far it's fun & funny - I've always been partial to British comedic writing - which can say the most outlandish things with a straight face and perfect diction. Will post more of a review when I've finished!

Just finished reading the anthology of Poe-inspired stories that Jaxx published and various MR members (including Jaxx, and - for full disclosure, myself) wrote.

Very enjoyable
