On the window-sill depends on how big the sill is - if you can fit a plantpot - then no reason why not ? |

RASPBERRIES!!!
It;s raspberry time in my yard. They're not too sweet (being seedlings of seedlings), but the real raspberry tang! (and they'll GROW in my heavy clay and Texas heat. Most raspberries turn toes up in Texas...) |

I need to put something up today for the cucumbers to grow on. The plants are getting huge and threatening to take over the garden. Dummy me didn't know they were climbers! Oh, well. Live and learn...

Kenny, stop sniffing the MiracleGro! Climbing cucumbers. Are your tomatoes tap dancing, too?

I've got one cucumber plant that is determined to take over the yard! I've propped it up in several places...good cucs from it. It's called spacemaster. I thought that meant a bush type not "Master of the Garden."
I've got raspberries too--nice and sweet and...taking over the garden. ARGH. I tried to contain them, but no luck. They pop up everywhere there is water. It's getting weedy back there too... Tomato and brie for lunch. OMGosh just good. BTW those of you in full sun states--I'm using a couple of shade umbrellas and burlap curtains and it seem to be helping with "cracking" on tomatoes. Much less of that going on so far this year. But then, we haven't hit 100 yet so take it as still experimental! |

Growing horseradish sounds great - is it just the same as growing any root vegetable? I get through about two jars of horseradish a week, I'm obsessed with the stuff.
Here's a peony that's growing in my garden - I love it. ![]() |

Dad always knew where wild horseradish was and would go dig it up. he never tried to grow it in our garden. it is a LONG root, like a daikon. if you try to make it at home you need both eye AND breathing protection. seriously! when it is being ground up, it is much worse than tear gas!
