Hey, Jon!

Look, I know it can be hard at times, but it's worth looking at a post and seeing if its motives could have been positive rather than negative, if that's how it might seem. For what it's worth, pshrynk is one of the nicest, funnest, humblest and most generous people I know at MR, and has always been so in the time I've known him here (must be almost the plural, years, now), and I offer, with absolute certainty, that his intent would definitely have been to help (as is his nature) and inform (as it is his area of knowledge). Purely to help, never to hinder or humiliate.

I don't say this to "correct" you, but just so you feel at least some degree of comfort. We might tease each other at times, but the willingness to help each other (and the reason we can jovially tease), only comes from the strength of camaraderie grown. You're part of that, mate. Honest.

Wasn't aiming at either target, Recluse. The psychiatrist should have thoroughly explained the meds before prescribing. That's why we call it informed consent. I'd be pissed too if someone gave me something and didn't explain what it did. Treating patients like they cannot understand the basics of their healthcare is one of my pet peeves. That and running late. Both are totally disrespectful of the patient.
