No.

I use a Palm OS PDA as an ebook reader. My primary reader applications is a free, open source offline HTML viewer called Plucker.

Plucker is intended to "pluck" websites with the desktop component, and sync them to the PDA for offline viewing. I use it to create Plucker formatted copies of books in HTML format stored locally.

I have about 2,600 volumes in Plucker format on an SD card in my PDA. I don't use Plucker to read websites offline, but if I did, I wouldn't think they had magically become books like the rest of the stuff I have in Plucker.

I thought so too, but just in case...

And he has a point about electronic reading blurring various distinctions.

I do read a lot. I've never really counted how many books I read. But I do know it's easily over 40 a year.

Reading is my first love. My reading has slowed down the last few years with my other hobbies, but I still read a book a week most weeks, sometimes more, it depends on how many pages the books have. Anything around 200 pages is usually read in one sitting. The number will likely go up when I purchase one of the e-ink devices.

I took the reading speed test on readingsoft.com, 400wpm with 100% comprehension, but that's just on their little quiz.

I read a bit less than one book per week. I used to read more, but my reading has slowed down as I spend increased time surfing the web.

Also, sometimes, I have a period where I can't find much of interest. Then, I will suddenly hit on two or three books in a row that I get through really fast. For example, I read one book already this week and will finish another shortly because I found a couple of good ones in a row. (Plus, I am in the middle of listening to one.)

as a kid i used to read a lot. my mom kept on bringing me new stuff and i gobbled it all up.
as a teen i sort of drifted away from literature. i had books to read for school, but other than that, i never read anything. after school, in university, i didn't read either.
then i got my self a PDA. and i heard of ebooks. and i realized i hadn't read the HHGG, which i found pretty easily on the net (shame on me) and i realized that ebook reading is awesome. soon afterwards i took up reading again, and now i can't fall asleep without reading at least a few lines, even if i am totally drunk and it's 5 in the morning (which doesn't happen often, though).
so that makes me consume around 2 books a month, which is 24 books a year.
it's mostly crime and "junk" like that, nothing too thought-invoking. i might try to add a bit more "culture" to my reading list.

My read list for this year is at 418 not counting short stories/novellas. That's more than I've ever read though. Last year was 295, the year before only 106. Of course I pretty much watch no TV anymore unlike a few years ago.

Too many for social life!

Actually no that much. On average one per week and a half. As I've said before, I have about 850 left...

Two-three per week, or I start to get the shakes. Which means often I'm not getting enough sleep....

Usually only about one per week is a "new" book, though. I love re-reading old favorites.

I read about 6 or 7 books a week - I am retired with plenty of time. No small children any more and I don't watch TV. I am tired of lugging books (my husband is also tired of lugging my books) when we go on vacation. I have just ordered a Sony ereader and hope that I will like reading off of it.

So far for this year I have read 73 books, 9 audiobooks, 1 ebook. Not sure if the audiobooks count, since there were being read to me.

I have read 75 books this year. I aim for 10 books per month and usually ends up with 100-120 books per year. I mostly read science fiction or crime.

So far I've read (finished) four books this week. At a guess I read anywhere from one to two hundred books a year. I'm pretty far outside the normal curve.
