All right... you've convinced me. It's off to the market to buy a couple of kilo of nice goon, some fresh coriander (as mine is just planted,) and some Thai prik. I already have some galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and fresh lemongrass. Chicken stock is in the freezer. Dinner is at half seven if you wish to drop by! (Hmmm... maybe I can find some khow niow to go along with it, and even make some pohpia! PARRR-TY! PARRR-TY!! You bring the Beer Chang! (Beer Lao is acceptable but not preferred...) Stitchawl |

To further SneakySnake's translation, 'kung,' 'goong,' and 'kun' are all transliterations from the Thai word for either prawns or shrimp. I think 95% of the time we actually get shrimp from the local markets unless we are buying the fist-sized critters which 'tend' to be prawns, though often are shrimp. Personally, I can't tell the difference in taste, only in anatomy. And I don't care which they are if they are inside a good Tom Yum or Khow Phat! ![]() Stitchawl |

Don't hold this against me people...
Anyone here ever steal from a garden when they were a kid? I did that once and got caught. Parents and the old geezer made me work in the garden for a couple weekends helping the old guy out. |

Just to add to the story real quick:
I use "old geezer" term affectionately. He fit the definition perfectly. He was a old, grouchy, beer drinking, chain smoking, not afraid to cuss out a kid, wonderful old man. We did develop an odd kind of friendship. I came over at a later date to steal from his garden again and he saw me. So i pretended to be looking at the work I did and its progress. He gave me candy and soda so I started coming over to say hi on a regular basis. |

OK, I started reorganizing the window sill. I put one of the tomato plants in its own pot, and sowed basil between the two remaining ones. The tiny one hasn't grown one bit but it's still alive, I want to give it a chance.
Also recycled a pot from a plant that someone gave me 3 years ago (I killed it off in less than a month ![]() I feel like a fool. They're all going to die ![]() |

Rabbit has a dry meat and it has to be cooked accordingly. It is commonly commerced in supermarkets. I like the flavor and texture but I don't like the small bones. In practice I do't eat it except if they invite me and it's a surprise stewed with wild mushrooms, which is the best way. Don't read if your ....whatever Spoiler:
